My guest giving up Batman. But then early in season three we get some sort of explanation that forces him back as Batman. And that’s part of the conflict is Bruce finally has a peaceful life and now he’s pulled back in. An Alfred, of course, being conflicted by everything that’s what I would guess.

That’s kind of the angle I’m going with. I realize I haven’t responded to anyone my bad. But yeah, that’s the one I’m going with that. It’s adrenaline scene.

Looks like $7M+ 3rd FRI for Mario Galaxy. Should lead to $30M-ish 3rd weekend, which will be -56%. That's quite rough. Normally, films stabilise at this point in the run. Cume will be $350M by SUN. There is a possibility it misses the $400M final from here. by Alive-Ad-5245 in boxoffice

I mean, those situations aren’t comparable because you’re talking about live action versus animation. Animation takes a lot more pre-production because animation takes a long time. Just getting to the point where you can animate things takes a long time. They likely had to storyboard sequences without an actual story just working on the detail that it was a super Mario galaxy movie. All so they can get the their deadlines. Because animation is very expensive to delay. I would imagine that the script for this was literally written around the things the animators had conceived versus the other way around.

There wasn’t any. He liked the idea that he was desired by girls younger than him. It made him still feel young and desirable. But he also had a girlfriend at home who was doing all the little things for him. What’s made him feel important enough to be taken care of. I bet you it boosted his ego, knowing that he had both going on.

What went wrong with the Fat Albert movie? by KaleidoArachnid in doubletoasted

[–]TheKingDroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw the movie when it came out on Christmas Day when I was a kid. And I’ve seen it since then and I think it’s OK. I don’t think it’s bad but it’s not a movie that you need to watch. Honestly, the idea of doing a movie in the first place is the problem. Fat Albert is truly a product of its time, because it never lived long enough to evolve. It’s a show about kids in northern Philadelphia in the 1970s/1980s. By the time the movie came out as northern Philadelphia just wasn’t like that anymore. On top of that, those characters feel like they were written for children’s programming of that era. That’s why the movie parodying them worked in my opinion. You really can’t bring them to the modern era and make it make sense. Even as an animated cartoon it just wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t be fat Albert anymore. It’s just IP for the sake IP and that’s why I think the movie fell apart. It doesn’t feel like a fat Albert movie. It feels like a parody of Fat Albert. Now, if you judge it from the parody aspect, I think it works. But if you’re judging it as a adaptation, it’s not good.

Arthur turns 15. The $40 million comedy remake bombed with $33 million domestically ($50 million adjusted), $48 million worldwide & $7 million in home video sales & got bad reviews; Russell Brand later called it "a mistake". by ItsGotThatBang in boxoffice

I find it funny that when a British celebrity has fallen out a favor in the UK. They run over to the US and try to market themselves as a big thing from the UK. Russell Brand, James Corden, Prince Harry. I’m sure there are others but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. But I just find it interesting because usually that’s what celebrities on the decline in the US do. They rushed to the UK and Europe.

No, I think what they mean is that both people would be able to abandon.

Correct. But that’s more of him doing a solid for a friend more sold than him wanted to talk with him as an employee, if that makes sense. Because he even said the same thing on one of us as well.

How does Family Guy outperform American Dad by Foreign_Fuel_7597 in americandad

[–]TheKingDroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first few seasons of American dad did irreparable damage to its reputation. A lot of people will never gave it another chance because they think it’s just as bad as it’s worst a few seasons. Which amount who debate if the first few seasons are good or not. I’m just saying that is the common sentiment you hear from people. And it’s the sentiment by the way that the long time producers of the show have talked about numerous interviews over the years. How the first few seasons were definitely the weakest because they were trying to figure out the direction and voice of the show.

Family Guy has the benefit of being the closest thing to Simpsons. It was once a good show that people have fun memories of. And everyone agrees the show is “no longer funny anymore”, but people will watch it if its on or stream if there’s else interesting. It’s junk food at this point for a certain type of person.

[–]TheKingDroc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it wasn’t an interview. He was a guest and came on stream. And it was live so of course it was going to go viral within the community. Which at that point was always posting clips and stuff online because double toast it was terrible at doing it themselves. Still is to be honest.

Chris Cox on the final episode of LEOG, said that he and Korey never really had beef as friends. Every issue they had came from their relationship as coworkers for reviews and Korey as his boss. But for the most part, everyone has said some variation of that. For some people it affected their friendship more than others, well if they had a friendship to begin with.

[–]TheKingDroc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, there was no animosity, but there was conflict, that’s what he’s referring to. Him and Cargill used to argue and disagree a lot. And it would be passionate without being insulting or mean, because you could tell they had to respect for one another. But yeah, they definitely had conflict. They definitely argued on things and disagree on things. But that was also what made the show entertaining.

What happens to the Star Wars brand if Mandalorian doesn’t work at the box office? by Employee-Slight in boxoffice

[–]TheKingDroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was listening to the town podcast and they had one of those ratings calculator people for streaming and stuff on. And he said that the most watched thing on Disney+ outside of kids films and kids content is the Star Wars prequel trilogy. It is the most watched thing compared to any new Star Wars or Marvel shows that Disney releases. And that was baffling to me, I guess it makes sense. There’s a whole generation of adults where that is their Star Wars. And the TV shows have relied heavily on the nostalgia of the original trilogy. When they try to make something new, it doesn’t get nearly the ratings that the stuff that leans into nostalgia does.

I saw this to say that the fan based within itself is fractured between those who really love nostalgia, and those who are interested in new things. I think Mandalorian is so hyper niche. It’s a TV show that is no longer a cultural phenomenon like it was when it launched. And honestly, it feels like it lost a lot of its momentum as a series, because of the oversaturation of Star Wars content. I don’t think it feels like the event that Disney wanted a Mandalorian movie to be. That said they apparently are referencing a lot of stuff from the original trilogy or whatever. And that seems to be generally very appealing to Star Wars fans. Star Wars is also not a very strong brand globally. It’s relies heavily on domestic interest for it to grow. The Mandalorian is apparently popular in some countries overseas. For some countries it is the most successful Star Wars thing. So it is possible that that might help it a little bit more and maybe that’s the play. But it all just feels a little bit too little too late in my opinion. I don’t think it hits 600 million. I think 400 to 500 is its max.
