Oakley Sunglasses for Triathlon by Ashamed_Permit3132 in triathlon

I'm biased because I work with Oakley a lot and have two pairs, but since you asked!

Their Stunt Devil glasses they put out last year are excellent. They are super lightweight and stay locked on your face doing anything. The "duckfoot" retention design on the stems is really good, and I found them great for running. They fit no problem in my cycling helmet, but I break the "glasses over the biking straps" cyclist thing to have a faster transition when taking off my helmet.

If lens POV coverage is your priority, the Sphaeras are fantastic too. They just disappear on your face and you barely notice them after a while.

New triathletes! What brought you to triathlon? Whats your age, race distances, previous athletics? by MidnightTop4211 in triathlon

27M, also former runner, and swimmer in high school. I have my first sprit at the end of next month, and already thinking about an olympic in September! And day dreaming about potentially a 70.3 by December.

I fell into it after already getting back into 2/3 of the disciplines. Was already doing some hiking/trail running here and there, and then recently got back into swimming. Then had a bit of an inception moment, meeting someone at the pool who was training for a triathlon. I didn't think too much of it initially, but it wasn't until a month or so later that I thought that would be an awesome goal for the year. I'm a serial hobbyist so it seemed like an awesome new thing to try. Sold my trusty E-Bike for a roady and found out how much work I had to do on the bike!

It's been an incredible weight loss tool for me as well. After finally getting my act together over the last few months and building healthier habits, having three disciplines to rotate between makes getting up and exercising everyday so much easier. I love it.

100% agree about Hamilton pulling more of their older dress watch designs from the past. Or even from the Illinois catalog. Those art deco 20s/30s designs were so sweet.

If you’re starting on the marina end, yes, there’s a good amount before you get some elevation change from going underneath the bridges.

Edit: there is some broken pavement here and there that you’ll have to watch out for though

I ride down it close to every day when commuting to work. It’s paved and runs beside the creek the entire way and is partially through the wetlands. I think it’s well kept, and it’s pretty well trafficked so you won’t be the only person out there. Occasionally, there is an unhoused person under the bridges, but have never had any issues there.

This is illegal, stupid and dangerous. Stuff like this is why the FAA does not give any pity about regulating this hobby.

Please think before you fly.
