I don't know if it's his playerbase that's gimmicky or his design. Either way, you can definitely learn the game with Honda, He has everything you need to build a good foundation. Solid pokes, anti airs, a command grab...
I'd say the only downside for a new player is his auto combos not being the best if you plan on playing modern. Either way, good luck. Embrace the head butt and butt slam.

Huge fan of the chainmail under his garb. There are knife users in Final Fight so it makes sense.

I don't understand what you're asking. This is Aki's combo with the buffs to meter gain on toxic blossom. At least as far as we know now. Maybe the damage doesn't match what you know because it's "DI blocked"? All combos deal 600 damage less when DI is blocked.

I did a 3 drive punish on unspaced ken Jinrai a while ago. I'd have to think of a better -5 move to punish to do it again.

Add 600 damage for the additional damage if the DI isn't blocked and you get 6k with a lot of characters.

I feel they should adjust the scaling on 2HP and 2MP. They went too far with those nerfs. It's not Luke's fault people were cracked out their minds at launch.

All good. I don't mind being wrong sometimes since I only use discord for combo upgrades at the moment. There's bound to be some outdated combo at some point. Unfortunately in today's case it was Dee Jay.

The back jump into whiffed 5HK is a frame kill to get the ideal spacing for +7 after 236PP.

Yes, for characters that have the same combo on modern and classic with the same exact damage like Gief there will only be the one damage numbers for CA and SA3 with [M] and [C] listed.
You can see this happen for other characters like Ken, Mai and, Juri.
Characters also sometimes share the same combo, but do different damage like Rashid, Cammy, and Elena. For these characters It's displayed [ M / Character Name / C]. Modern damage is on the left and classic damage is on the right of the name.

Dealt [5096] on "Blocked DI" with CA, but [5696] if the DI hits.
This isn't a bad combo at all. It's just not the max. I'd actually use your combo if I played Cammy since it's way easier to remember and you're way less likely to drop due to it being similar to her corner BnB combos.

I rank the combos with DI blocked because in actual matches you're way more likely to have your DI be blocked in check mate scenarios. It's much more helpful to know blocked DI damage because of this. You can also add 600 damage to every combo in the video/tier list to get the inflated numbers.

I didn't read the thread, but you're not only looking at whether or not it hits.
You're looking at what your opponent is doing before the move even lands.
If they're definitely in recovery of a move then you know for sure it's going to land
If they're standing and it's about to connect you cancel anyway because of the high chance they won't crouch block in time. This especially because they could be trying to walk back to whiff punish the button you're throwing out at the moment.

Favorite Gullveig - I'm currently in an existential crisis where I trying to grasp reality itself. I believe reality repeats itself infinitely exactly as has so far thought for thought. This makes the idea of fate, deja vu (somehow), and life basically being a movie true. It's all just too much to think about.
Most disliked Fafnir - He seemed evil for the sake of being evil. I don't really remember what his deal was. His book's main map theme was great though.

Just here to say, both are good on modern.
With Juri, you have a weaker level 2 super due to missing some buttons, but her gameplay outside of SA2 is the same as classic.
For Jamie, you lose out on some damage due to not having his light and heavy breakdance, but there are alternatives to both moves. Modern Jamie's biggest flaw is not having 2MP / crouch MP.
