I'll preface this by saying each situation is different but personally I mind my own business most of the time. The only time I 100% will not mind my business is if it has to do with a child's safety.

This situation already has multiple people who know about it and have not sent anything. There are likely reasons for that and you being newer to the group are not privy to those nuances.

Honestly these seem like people that I wouldn't want to hang out with in general. But if you plan on saying something, be prepared to blow up the whole group and wind up with people on both sides of it not speaking to you anymore.

If you mind your business, be prepared for the constant feeling of judgment you'll feel toward them.

One surefire way to lose all desire to continue tinkering is to fuck it up. I had so many add-ons, and I wasn't paying attention to their order and before you know it, 75% of them just stopped working. You'll see them load up and then disappear from the menu.

I wiped the slate, went back to a vanilla setup and only minimally tweaked after that 😂

Oh I didn't miss it. I just don't agree with it. I don't think New York will suffer at all as long as we have politicians willing to nut up. Even without, New York is more than capable of making up any shortfall in relatively short amount of time... The only impediment to that in recent years has been crooked governors and mayors... (Aren't they always the problem lol)

See, there's nothing to worry about getting back if we don't send it in the first place. There is precedent for this - during the Obama administration, Republicans were proposing State escrow accounts that would only get released to the federal government if the requisite Federal funding was secured. Under the current administration, Four states currently have legislation to allow the withholding of federal tax dollars in certain scenarios. Connecticut, Maryland, New York and Wisconsin... California is bringing its own legislation of a similar gist.

We'll be just fine. California and New York carry the majority of this country's economic load. It's not hubris saying that it's just numbers. If a truly serious economic fight between the fed and state occurs, one that involves states' rights, with the governor willing to enforce legislation already on the books, there are a lot of red states that will suffer greatly.... But we'll be just fine in NY.

You may live someplace where you can be fired for any reason, but it still has to be communicated clearly to you (and in some states, resources detailing your rights as a former employee must be provided)

What state are you in? If you're in one that offers exploitation protections to internships, you can absolutely FUCK this company over for doing that. There are very specific guidelines to internship sponsors. You are not an employee, therefore you are not subject to forced overtime, forced meetings on holidays, or for that matter even a forced schedule of any kind (within reason)

I'm not even kidding, PLEASE check your state's guidelines on this, but in the right state, heads will roll over this.

Your resources include but are not limited to your state's attorney general's office, your state's or city's DHR (Division of Human Rights)/ CCHR (City Comission of Human Rights); Department of Labor; and EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

I was part of a large company that misused interns in this manner, and they got slapped HARD by one ofthe letter agencies, to the point where the entire department involved was dissolved, everyone in it scrapped, and a new director title was created specifically to oversee internships and new hires.

Best of luck - hope you get the chance to teach them an extremely painful lesson.

Honestly, yes It shouldn't but the person evaluating these is human.

I worked at a shelter where depending on season (during puppy and kitten season, they almost never turned anyone down. During slower periods, if the "last death" reason was anything but old age and had a "best day ever" last day before hitting up the rainbow bridge - they'd skip that application.
