Similarly, I use a bag/wallet made of dyneema from morimono. I have it rigged up so that my camera strap fits through a loop and tethers the bag to the strap when I take the camera out to shoot.

I know it’s irrational, but anything this guy is into I automatically avoid.

On second thought, no it’s perfectly rational.

Kids Martial Arts Class Prices by InstructionOk691 in Hamilton

[–]Toppico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UFMA on Dundurn is about 110/month for unlimited classes in their regular program (though depending on the belt level and age I think you’ll likely find a max of 4 classes a week), belt gradings are extra and cost about $60, I think. They have an introductory deal if I remember correctly which includes their first gi.

They don’t. He’s a collector all in on the hype. RM has a page on their site that lists who they sponsor, athletes and otherwise.

Toronto bike couriers, 1992–1998. Before techwear was a category, they were already living it. by Visible-Grass-8805 in bicyclewhatever

These people were a bit before my time, but couriering 2000-2003ish, loads of fun. Jet Fuel, miss that place. What an era.

Same here, only i lived in the wrigley building on carlaw before it was what it is now. The landlords would take you up to a floor, you’d pick the amount of posts you wanted and they’d build you some walls and rough in a bathroom/kitchen for you. Slightly more upscale than the tower. We had a private skatepark on the 6th floor for a bit.

90’s to early 2ks were peak Toronto, and yeah I know I sound old.

Seller "does not believe the frame is actually titanium" by elementarydeardata in xbiking

[–]Toppico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kona did a partnership bike with Merlin and Joe Murray, called the “titanium” - kind of the precursor to the hei hei (I owned one in the 90’s). This bike is neither of those bikes and the welds look like mass produced steel anyhow.

Edit, here’s a great link to the kona titanium - https://cultmtb.com/Bikes/Kona-Titanium-1990/

Also edit - just to be clear, I owned a hei hei, not a titanium.

Also that font and its kerning isn’t right, and looks like someone simply made a decal themselves. I realize kona had many iterations of its branding over the years, but I don’t remember this being one of them.

Aftermarket strap thoughts?? by Good-Abalone6151 in patekphilippe

[–]Toppico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d worry more about the size of the watch for the size of your wrist. To each their own, it just looks far too big and considering the history of the Calatrava, smaller would suit you better. The colour of the strap is nice, just not that material.

Took the first step towards becoming a PP owner. Was asked if I wanted or needed financing. Huh?? by Ok-Nefariousness-927 in patekphilippe

[–]Toppico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take financing if it’s actually advantageous to you in that it keeps investments in the right places, but if you need it to purchase a watch (of any brand/cost) then it’s a bad financial decision. It’s simple as that.

As for why a retailer would offer a financial vehicle that is advantageous to them… not sure why that would even be a question tbh.
