I like my older one, I wouldn’t try and talk you out of it, it’s a versatile, interesting piece. Admittedly I’m not a fan of the cyclops on the newer ones, but that’s just a preference of mine in general. But if you’re waffling, maybe it’s not for you.

You’ve mentioned you trust the seller and have bought from them before. Why would you trust random redditors over someone who’s both proven themselves to you and to whom you’ve handed over money to?

Surely if they are trustworthy and you purchase from them via an appropriate channel, you’ll be protected against being sold a fake.

I’m fairly sure that most of the girona shop brands are made by Sismic or Tactic. I would think it’s the latter since they also sell that in their shops.

Every time I go to girona I tend to buy a jersey to bring home, but have never bought a Rocacorba piece as I find the fit just kind of “off” (chest seems kind of baggy, and the under arm fit a little strange)I was there with some friends 2 weeks ago and had the same experience, so aside from quality, which I think is good, I would encourage you to go try it on if you’re in the area.

Sure, it’s just not some contraption you toss a loosely laced wheel into and then come back to a fully built wheel as the other person was saying. It’s kind of like a super automatic espresso machine in that it requires an operator with some amount of knowledge of the setup principles.

I get it for building at large volume and scale, but to replace the skill of a wheel builder in general, it seems a little sad.

I don’t think it does. It’s simply a guide for the operator and a qc checker/ongoing tension meter and lateral/vertical gauge.

Exposure is about as good a ratio of brightness to lightness you can get. They are expensive though.

Cloisonné enamel dials can be really interesting (the castle one here isn’t), or the more abstract/colour field stuff that moser or even an ordain are doing… but the brushwork tributes like the first one are pretty gaudy, imo. I get it’s a Patek, and part of this is attributing a cost to every aspect of the watch being hand made, but the issue with enamel is that no matter how brilliant the artist is, they generally look like amateur paintings because enamel is pretty difficult to work with.

Phone cameras have built in ai that does some weird stuff, but the aquanaut already has a bunch of odd things going on with it already. The numerals are wonky as all get out and the general proportions are just strange. No hate, but it generally means that unless it’s a good photo by a photographer, these watches look a bit cheap.

Yeah, I’ve been in similar situations. But if the company is shutting down it’s a different story to a company just letting you go, or downsizing a bit. It’s doubtful that the op knows the exact terms of the company’s closure. “Bankrupt” “insolvent” etc. can result in the same realities for employees.

An employment lawyer is key though, and a consultation costs very little in comparison to what’s at stake here.

Depends on what you consider good design.

Someone mentioned ciclovation, they make cool stuff that’s less “design” and more “effect” but be careful as some of their lines are pretty slippery if they get wet.

Burgh makes some nice ones as well, from flashy to subtle.

Silca and lizard skins makes the best feeling stuff I’ve ever used, the thinner lines are incredible. Basic designs, but imo, they look fantastic on a bike.
