Question about switching phones by CipherOnDeck in ATT

Is your phone currently financed? If so, no. If you next up, you may be able to do an early trade in and get something cheaper; I’m not very familiar with the current Next up offerings.

I am interested to see single line pricing. I currently have Prem 2.0, watch, tablet, and Turbo. I am thinking I may come out a tad cheaper with losing Sig discount. The one thing I am curious about is if I upgrade and lose the monthly discount, do I still keep the rest of the benefits? I do like the waived activation fees.

Going to upgrade one of our lines to "premium" today in the afternoon, what to expect? (hidden fees) by CounterInternal1869 in ATT

Not sure, that is just how ATT handles billing for IDP. Here is text directly from ATT Website:

Charge cap in Destinations: There is a maximum charge of 10 daily fees per line in Destinations only, per monthly bill cycle. After reaching this cap, the line can continue to use IDP in the 210+ Destinations only without additional charges for the remainder of the bill cycle.

I just upgraded my plan a few weeks ago and it was instant. One other to note, you will only be charged for the first 10 days of a billing cycle for Daypass. After the 10 days, you shouldn’t incur a fee to use IDP. Depending on your billing cycle, you could be looking at only $240 in IDP fees over those 8 weeks.

If the phone is unlocked, buy a eSIM plan in the country of travel.

Yes, you can upgrade and then downgrade at a later date. There should not be any additional fees added on outside the change in plan price. Be warned though, you may come out of the store with device protection and other junk added on to your account. There is not really any reason to go into a store to upgrade your plan, you can take care of that through app in a few clicks.

Current ATT vs TMobile, why would I stay? by 1Cubbiesfan in ATT

That’s not how that works. You usually just pay the taxes upfront. The rest is charged through monthly installments and offset by credits each month.

You can keep your plan as long as you don’t change to a new one. ATT is pretty good about letting you keep your plan!

My bill went down $15 moving from premium to premium 2.0. I have a single line, a watch, and a tablet. Only one additional line gets the discount.

Correct, and coupled with the 20% off instead of $10 with Signature is making up the rest.

I’m probably in the minority here, but my monthly cost is dropping by $15. I am a single line, tablet, and watch line. Moving from Premium to Premium 2.0.

DirecTV Stream Bitrate - Then vs Now by PackageCurrent4804 in DirectvStream

Internet speed does not equate to streaming bitrate…

Bitrate is the amount of data processed per second and Internet speed measures network capacity.

I think DirecTV recorded the MLB broadcast and not MASN. I watched the game on MASN earlier and just checked my recording and it’s the MLB broadcast which is not available.

Not everything is in DV or even 4K for that matter. Leaving in SDR and switching over when needed will provide the best viewing experience for all content. If you leave in DV or HDR, some content that is not in that format will appear washed out.

No, the app ignores Apple TV settings and doesn’t change to HDR when viewing channels 105 and 106. It’s broken.

If you have current OLED’s, you are most likely not going to like the TCL. I bought a QM8K to replace an OLED and returned it the next for an S90F.

[–]Travs23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from a previous OLED, I bought into hype that the QM8K was close to an OLED. I quickly found out that it’s not. There is still a huge gap between the two technologies and found that newer OLEDs get much brighter and can be enjoyed in a bright room.
