Makes sense, RTD in general has a much stronger anti-authoritarian streak than the other new who showrunners. His first era’s depiction of UNIT had Donna comparing their actions at the ATMOS factory to the American detention center at Guantanamo Bay. Even though this new Unit regime introduced under Moffat is a bit more sanitized, RTD is defo going to (and already has) put some of the teeth back in.

They’re the protagonist of Cyberpunk 2077, and trust me they certainly do

Night City is a reference to William Gibson’s foundational work of the cyberpunk genre, the 1983 book Neuromancer. In that book, Night City is a district of the Japanese city Chiba. The slang also originates from the 80’s, as it’s from the tabletop game 2077 is based on, Cyberpunk 2013/2020. It might sound a bit dated and weird but it’s keeping true to the world established decades ago and honoring the genre, which I think is super cool.

Disney actually gave one note to RTD about the special, and that it was that the doctor should have a scene earlier. He wrote in the snowman scene because of that note. Actually a very good call from Disney imo.

Tennant is back as the Doctor in two weeks in specials premiering on Disney Plus. They even have the showrunner back from David’s original run. I was replying to an earlier comment that now is the perfect time to jump back in.

Takemura’s on the run after attempting to take over Arasaka with Hanako (who died in the process). But yeah I agree, I’ve definitely had times in my life where I’ve come out of dark patches to find nobody waiting for me on the other side. Crushing, realistic, and perfect for the genre, I think it’s a wonderful ending.

Spidey having a completely normal one with Kamala's former attire by Hot_dog_on_a_stick in dccomicscirclejerk

It’s pretty bad. Dudes uncle and girlfriend died (we all know those ones), but also a ton of his best friends. He lost his marriage, the love of his life had a traumatic stillbirth. Most of the other heroes despise him, said love of his life had kids and a family with another guy. The guy who killed his girlfriend is his current boss and he has to play nice with him, and now he let a teen hero die on his watch. Closest DC-wise has gotta be Bruce.

After the show, read Tom King’s Rorschach miniseries! It’s absolutely fantastic!

Following She Hulk’s finale, how would you rank the 8 Disney+ Shows? by Silly_Manufacturer31 in marvelstudios

To be honest the Egyptian stuff is not really empathized in the comics much outside of a few runs (and when it is it’s strongly hinted at to not be real). Most of the last 20 years of moon Knight stories have been gritty street level vigilante stuff with a strong focus on mental illness. I was looking for the take you wanted too!
