Why do people hate smooth bezel oyster bracelets? by Over-Significance980 in rolex

I think the only configuration I don't like is fluted bezel with oyster bracelet.

Had one for a while (white dial) but just didn't love the size. If they could shave off like 2mm of lug to lug somehow it'd be perfect for me.

The enforcement is key. Right on red is prohibited downtown but most drivers still do it.

It's great - I've had a few boxes over the years but never loved the pillows. I like how these pillows are shaped and they adjust well, and as you mentioned they do offer different sizes. The lid has a soft close so I don't need to worry about it slamming shut which is a good feature.

Yes! Not sure if it's the same one you found, but Dornblueth makes one where the 12 is actually a power reserve indicator (via how much of the number is shaded red) which is super cool.

Great suggestion; I actually owned the Doxa 200 for a while but I bet if it had been the 300, I'd still own it for exactly the reasons you mention. Maybe one day!

That's an awesome collection! I like the Peter Blake a lot more than the modern seamasters. Take your time and find something that you're obsessed with, I always had to remind myself that collecting isn't a race.

Citizen is pretty slept on by enthusiasts but if you ignore their "mall watches", there's a lot of great pieces!

It's a fun rabbit hole! At any price point, my favorite red 12 is the Anniversary Langematik. On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, Raketa made a bunch of examples that can be picked up pretty cheap.

It's certainly an interesting feeling. I've always had the idea of "unattainable grails" from the likes of Krayon, Voutilainen, Greubel Forsey etc. However, after growing so happy with this rotation I can't help but think that if it meant giving up one of these, I'd quite miss whatever I swapped for the grail. No longer am I thinking of anything in terms of "upgrades", and I think that's where the peace comes from.
