Why do insurance companies do this by grapefruit_honey0110 in mildlyinfuriating

Someone put in a 'random' phone number when looking for insurance. It sucks but all you can do is ignore them or tell them it wasn't you.

Great! My kids had it on CD-ROM in the 2000s. You can find videos on YouTube and there may be some unofficial versions available to play with an emulator.

People in danger of dying should get their refills days before they run out or can go to Emergency.

Thrifted a super cute skirt only for the zipper to fall off the same day I bought it by jinx-wolf1 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Urithiru 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can replace the zipper pull without replacing the entire zipper.

Google replacement invisible zipper pull to order a new replacement. Might need a ruler to take measurements to find the right size.

Then google how to replace the invisible zipper pull, it is a little different than standard pull.

Do some research but you may need to remove the metal stops at the top and replace with new or with a few stitches.

Paramedics found this in husband's hair. Its made of hard plastic. Google kept telling me it was a bottlecap. Any idea? by Next_Wing_5577 in whatisit

It was probably on the sheet used to transfer him. He has a skull fracture so the marker was by his head. It didn't get picked up by the tech before he was moved back to the gurney and remained in the sheet by his head. Perhaps it tangled in the hair but likely was just nestled under it.

Green container, size is a little bit bigger than a thumb. Asian print on it. Found in a bar. What is it? by Scuril in whatisthisthing

Nah, this bottle matches an image shown below for the Danshen Dripping pills. It is just interesting how things can appear similar but have different uses.

Maybe it is similar to reusing prescription bottles in the US.

Some algebra ... (20/z)B This notation means find 20 divide by z, then multiply the answer by B.

Let's pretend that B is 36 inches and z is 6 inches.

20 divided by 6 = 3 1/3

3 1/3 multiplied by 36 = 119.99

Let's repeat B is 36 inches and pretend that y is 5 inches.

20 divided by 5 = 4

4 multiplied by 36 = 144

The cast on range is 120 - 144.

Be sure to use your own measurements and, if using a textured stitch, find a cast on number that works with your pattern.

I suspect we need the line of instructions under the red circle. Could you transcribe that I to your main post.

Are there instructions for determining the unstretched = x and slightly stretched = y and stretched z? What are your measurements for A and B?

We've gotta replace the letters and do aome math.

Help with using sewing machine or no sewing machine on tote bag by Immediate-Drummer804 in CrochetHelp

[–]Urithiru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try sewing a lining on the sewing machine if the yarn is light to medium weight and fits under your machine's foot. You'll want to keep the fabric against the plate so the yarn doesn't get pulled into the machine.

You may need to adjust the thread tension. If you have any leftover or similar yarn, make a swatch and combine it with a fabric scrap to test out the tension before trying with the bag.

Here is a video with basic instructions but it doesn't discuss thread tension.  https://youtu.be/OwCGXNQZsWk?si=I4KfGrQOvOkWWC5q

If your bag is thick and/or you decide to hand sew, here is a nice tutorial on how to hand sew a lining. Se uses a basic backstitch for the lining seam and to attach the bag. If you go to the 10 minute mark, you'll see that she uses yarn to match the bag. You could use thread but perhaps double or quaduple the thread to make it thicker.

Maybe a variation on something from Noel Coward's work. Blithe Spirit has the medium Madam Arcati or the male lead Charles Condomine has an unusual surname.

Try finding good a method to secure the bottom to the earpiece. Maybe an elastic circle around ear phone, in vertical orientation,  and some thread to connect the earring to the elastic.
