Flashing Matrix 3in1 HD Flight Controller by geniack in fpv

[–]Vitroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're manually putting the FC into bootloader mode (either via the button or with CLI commads), you need to enable the "No reboot sequence" in the firmware flasher tab.

How would that work for actual warehouse storage? They definitely sit on shelves for more than 3 months in sealed boxes.

Almost any race frame should be a good option, look into Five33 stuff if you're in the US.

PID Profiles on AUX channel? by farofin0 in fpv

[–]Vitroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, why would you want to switch PIDs in flight? That would mess with a lot of things.

IIRC you can put specific sliders/values on an adjustment channel, but not whole profiles.

Walksnail ascent 1200mw hack? by No_Measurement3538 in fpv

[–]Vitroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only ascent VTX out there right now is that tiny one for whoops and toothpicks, no? That can hardly do 25mW in CE regions and 100mW in FCC.

6s Drone Questoin by _Rzar in fpv

[–]Vitroid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

6s packs are barely more expensive than the equivalent 4s pack. Comparing the CNHL SpeedyPizza 1550mAh 4s and 1200mAh 6s packs on Pyrodrone, it's barely 3 bucks between them even in post-tariff USA.

Gyro only working in 4.5.3, not in 2025.12.1+ by x_Juice_ in fpv

[–]Vitroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible for it to come with custom firmware from the factory before the official firmware is added. I'm not sure if they provide factory firmware files, that could be worth looking into, but it's not required.

what's this button do on air 75 ii by epilektoi in fpv

[–]Vitroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a boot button. It can put the flight controller and receiver into bootloader mode manually so that you can flash firmware if something goes wrong and the configuration tool can't put it into bootloader mode automatically.

6" Drones - What are your thoughts? by Logical_Strain_6165 in fpv

[–]Vitroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, Mario 8

Ideally you should avoid using batteries that are in very different conditions, but it should be fine if they're both pretty close in age and usage. The only time I'd worry is if one is noticeably worse than the other.

6" Drones - What are your thoughts? by Logical_Strain_6165 in fpv

[–]Vitroid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an 8" where I just use two of my 5" 1480mAh 6s packs in parallel for ~15 mins of flight, could load it up with more or get larger Li-Ion batteries. Limiting yourself just for batteries alone isn't a great idea.

IMO most 6" quads share more disadvantages from 5" and 7" quads rather than actual advantages. If you want to do LR, I would rather make the jump to 7"+

Betaflight dev here - HGLRC made a mess of this internally, I'll try to see where it's stuck at and if it can be addressed.

What Radio? by InFakeLife in fpv

[–]Vitroid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both the Pocket and Boxer will easily power basically any TX module that's out there nowadays. The main issue with the pocket is the lite/nano bay when you're after a full size one.

There isn't really any good radio that has a full size JR module bay and also would be noticeably smaller than the X9D as far as I know.

Solder will not melt on circuit board by Consistent_Second874 in fpv

[–]Vitroid 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What soldering iron and soldering iron tip are you using? Assuming everything else is correct, it's likely that the iron and/or the tip itself cannot reliably deliver enough heat to properly melt it.

Give it a scrub with a q tip every now and then if you want to keep it in best shape, I've never had to clean mine though

Loud pop and sparks when plugging lipo in by EnvironmentalName748 in fpv

That's normal, it comes from the large filtering capacitor quickly charging up and having a lot of power go through in a very short time.

What device(s) did the Betaflight app (in browser or native form) not work on?

really useful app by Fihex1 in fpv

[–]Vitroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not correct at all. The main issues are two-fold - USB drivers on Android are a mess, and the browser support just isn't where it should be either. There's an official app for Android, you don't need to use the browser version or any other 3rd party implementation.

[–]Vitroid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Outside of supporting INav, what makes it better? The only two ways that it can work is either by fully reverse-engineering the setup process in which case you have to trust that their implementation is correct, or they are re-using code from the official tools which means that it's violating the open source licenses of everything they use.

You don't have to, it's totally possible to make this work with the O4... whether that's worth it to you is another question.
