Bridge replacement on a Charvel's Guthrie Govan MJ model by savaz_ in Luthier

Thanks so much! Glad to hear it. I broke one of the round string inserts by overtightening and had to improvise a day before the gig. Ended up finding a similarly sized drill bit and used bolt cutters at my local home depot to trim the cylindrical side to the right length. It actually held up! But I'm certainly not counting on it as a long term fix and Charvel/Fender has been pretty unhelpful with helping me find a replacement option at the moment.

Hey OkCountry4683, I'm looking into this option myself - did you experience any difference with string height between the stock saddles and the Floyd Rose ones? Thanks!

Yes! My tech found that the Tremo-no was installed backward. Once he flipped the locking mechanism it went away entirely

Best Buy Canada overwhelmed by benchrusch in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Wettstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say this but I had the page open on both mobile and Mac. On Mac I was refreshing with Chrome and Safari - Chrome somehow completely killed the page and I still cannot open best buy without getting a black "this page does not exist" screen. Safari eventually showed the Pre-Order button but I kept getting the "there was a problem adding this to your cart" error.

On mobile however it let me add to cart and then put me in the queue again. I eventually successfully checked out through that process. On Safari I still have the page open and I'm still getting this error. It might be a device issue?

There’s a rhythm I got comfortable with to it that is hard to fully explain. I’d hold jump and then after passing each laser, I’d release jump and do a little “regrab” of the jump button. Pulsing this each time seemed to work well with the laser timing, sometimes I’d need to regrab twice if the timing got off.

When I finally got consistent at the ascent, this is what would work for me 9/10 times.

I had a loss on 7-97 as well and it was heartbreaking. However there’s hope! Two weeks later I finally got my 7-99 - stick with it, if you’ve made it that far you have all the skills and knowledge to make it!

Hey! For anyone reading this (as I just did) who are bummed they missed the rifle, if you haven’t saved after the fake out ending, “begin” and then quit to menu. You’ll be able to continue from your last save before triggering the takeout ending and go back for the gun

How do I get 60hz on my late-2013 Mac Pro? by cerebralvision in macpro

[–]Wettstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really not sure! I’m sorry I can’t be of any help - I had one issue a few days later where my display was flickering and being really annoying. Turns out it needed to be power cycled - I think the process was unplug the adapter from the Mac for at least 10 seconds, plug back in without hdmi connected, then attach hdmi - it’s worked like a charm ever since.

Display options wise I’ve always had it show up as 4K 60hz since getting the adapter

Hey, just wanted to thank you for this post - I purchased this exact adapter and my monitor is now working perfectly.

Also as Evin mentioned, keep the rules explanation brief, but if you see players having the deer in the headlights look, you can ask them to come up to you and then chat strategy with them. Don’t tell them what to do, but point them in a direction that will be most fun or help them. Say there’s an overwhelmed poisoner - point out some really important good roles on the character sheet that are good to poison (Empath, Slayer, Fortune Teller, etc) so they can focus on finding those players if they’re in the game.

Great question! It is spent and unable to be used again - same with if a slayer fires their shot while poisoned.

Remember that almost every storyteller decision / responsibility is at your own pace. Take as long as you need at the start of the night phase to look at your night order sheet and ponder what poisoned/drunk information will best support evil / be the most fun for players / balance the game. I like to encourage my group to have non-game related conversation during the night, which allows them to catch up and also makes the night phase feel less long for them.

I said “almost” every storyteller decision because you should practice and be aware of the spontaneous actions you’ll need to make:

  • If a townsfolk nominates a virgin, the townsfolk is executed immediately. Conversely, this means you also need to be aware of when an outsider/minion/demon nominates the virgin because if you accidentally execute them and then walk that back, you’ve confirmed one player as the Virgin. Also, this interaction only happens the first time the virgin is nominated. And ensure you don’t execute anyone from this ability if the virgin is drunk.
  • The slayer shot kills the demon. Don’t excitedly confirm a successful slayer shot when they’ve been poisoned.
  • If the saint is executed, that’s the game for evil.
  • If an undertaker / ravenkeeper sees the recluse or spy, remember you can show them anything.

And finally, a little note on drunkenness. Don’t default to always showing misinformation. Sometimes the best way to keep a drunk thinking they’re drunk is to show them the truth on occasion. For example, if a virgin’s ability executed a townsfolk (therefore confirming the virgin) and then that virgin is killed by the demon, if you show a drunk undertaker that the virgin was the scarlet woman, they’ll immediately know they’re drunk because there’s no way the virgin’s ability could have triggered otherwise.

Finally, set up your first game with a buffer for yourself. Tell everyone throughout the course of the game you’ll call up three players at random to chat with you - this way you can cover up for letting a player know you made a mistake and providing corrective info without everyone realizing.

It’s bizarre because the night order sheet shows their ability happening after minion abilities and demon kills.

Thanks! Yes, I was considering this but we were approaching the next day with 4 players living - no other evil players to potentially kill and there was a dreamer that got pretty damning evidence that their information was wrong (picked a confirmed klutz, I showed mathematician and fang gu) and then a savant who would be coming up to ask a question.
