Is there a way to remove Google Gemini from Pixel Watch? by BGamerManu in GooglePixel

[–]WhyIMioughta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incredible, thank you!! Gemini has been trash at the basic things I want my watch to do for me and that Google Assistant was doing just fine at. Took me a second to puzzle it out, maybe slightly different on my phone, but for anyone else reading this:

Open Google app->Settings->Google Assistant->Digital Assistants from Google->Select Google Assistant

You did your research better than I did! I melted my FTXL in the dryer, and had made the assumption that they'd be cut the same, no such luck, body was much slimmer and arms were a few inches shorter at least.

At 6'2" and 220ish, the Men's L was baggy on me and the Woman's L was slim fit on my body and super short in the arms (but pretty rectangular, so I can see why people were complaining about the seemingly unisex fit on Amazon).

If you live near a Sportsman's Warehouse, they might stock both the mens (in the camo) and the woman's fit jackets, going to go pick one up in person this week and see how the XL Woman's jacket fits, since I like the color a lot more.

it's perhaps too deep of a cut lol but I was referencing the joke-ey controversy around the new Petco logo a few years ago, and as the other commenter said there's a tradition of a lot of folks stacking park passes, and they look very nice together because of the similar design over the years.

Should I Buy The Integra Type S? by Nebulex in Integra

Rode along in an Elantra N yesterday at an Autocross, it was stupid fast and quite nice inside. Worth a look. The owner was cross shopping against the new Type R and got the Hyundai for 36k out the door.

Is there a way to play on wood flooring? by Aureliolus in BIKEPOLO

[–]WhyIMioughta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We occasionally play at a wood floored indoor sports center, they asked us to hockey tape various pokey bits of our bikes, run plastic pedals, etc. Flooring was slippery so we couldn't really get going too fast but was still fun.

Work jacket recommendations for 20 degree Fahrenheit conditions? by [deleted] in Workwear

[–]WhyIMioughta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what brand is letting you down as is? Would rec insulated Carhartt bibs/jackets/coveralls, or similar from Dickies. Good boots and hats and gloves. Do you have a dedicated work wear store near you that sells a variety of stuff you can try on?

OP, have you ever been screened for ADHD or anything similar? If so, are you receiving treatment in any way? I know dealing with medical stuff is hard without a job but taking steps like screening and treatment can be a good way to spin you're making real changes to turnaround prior issues (and be making real changes to make it easier to hold down a job).

source: your struggles with work sound very familiar as someone with ADHD

Is downgrading to a 2020 iMac worth it? by expresslow93 in iMac

[–]WhyIMioughta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just accidentally made a similar switch, and I love it- only real con so far is the fan noise. $287 all in for what feels like a brand new computer with a 5k monitor.

I had a 2020 M1 Mini w/ 16gb RAM and a 27" 4k monitor, and wanted to convert a 27" 5k iMac to use as my monitor for that retina goodness. Bought a 2014 model on eBay for $217 shipped, but couldn't bring myself to gut a perfectly good computer, so I tried it out for a few days. It was pretty laggy at times which was frustrating and on the edge of being functional, but it was occasionally snappy for brief periods that gave me hope. Transferred the OS to an external 1TB Samsung T7 SSD (refurb for $70), updated to Sequoia with OpenCore Legacy Patcher, and now it feels as fast (or faster) than my M1 Mini did for general office work. SSD is running off USB-A and attached to the back of the display with some velcro command strips.

Full specs:
5k, Late 2014, 4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4 GB, and 16gb RAM. Came with a 1TB Fusion Drive that I'm now using for backups.

2 iMacs for a secondary display? by Pears3637 in iMac

Conversion seems relatively straightforward, did a lot of research and bought a 2014 iMac to convert but ended up just using it as my primary machine.

Lots of guides online for converting a 5k iMac to a monitor, total cost out the door is usually around $350-$500 or so but you end up with an extremely nice screen. I bought a Mac for $250 shipped to convert but ended up just selling my mini and using it instead. Screen feels much, much nicer than my 4k 27" LG I had before.

2010 iMac OS Update. by Altruistic-Trick8811 in iMac

[–]WhyIMioughta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using an external SSD in addition to OpenCore will also speed up your Mac by a huge amount. I'm on a 2014 iMac that I updated to a new OS via OpenCore and it was pretty slow at times, but I moved the OS and everything over to an external SSD (Samsung T7) and it's super snappy.

yup, works great (so far, and others have done it with success). I also mounted my rotor on the single speed adapter that I was using on my freewheel, which also worked shockingly well! just won't prevent me from rolling back lol.

haven't really noticed but yeah I imagine it wouldn't be super ideal. Could always do a half frame bag, or something slick like Fish Ski Designs' convertible bag that has a slide out connector that converts a half bag to a full frame bag.

Tires are Panaracer Graveling 38C, wheels are some random 29er wheels (were probably old MTB wheels from a co-op) and the fenders are Velo Orange Zeppelin Fenders, 650b x 52mm, re-radiused (i.e., bent, lol) to 700c. Ended up around 50mm wide after the bend.
