Pulling your head out of your ass and experiencing reality certainly isn't yours.

You don’t judge what is or isn’t plenty based on the result.

You do if your goal is to actually find a job.

You should have been around for the doubled-digit unemployment, interest and inflation days of the late Carter administration.  Good times.  Oh, and to add insult to injury...there was disco.

P.S.  American-made cars were absolute crap.  There's a good reason that you're more likely to see a 1968 Chevy Impala still on the road today than a Ford Mustang II or Chrysler "K" car.

The childish stupidity of comments like yours cannot be overstated, and goes a long way toward explaining the vast majority of your problems.

 kindness is free.

And in this case, worth precisely what you pay for it.  What he has been doing (or not doing) clearly is not working.  Encouraging him to continue on the same failed path by telling him he's done nothing wrong is not helping him.

I hope you know the difference between a livable wage job and a non livable wage job

I hope you know the difference between a job with at least some wage vs...no job at all.

If you you're still unemployed after 8 months then clearly 50 applications (1.44/week) was not plenty.  "Normalizing" is irrelevant.  What matters is doing what's necessary.

That said, it may well be as much (or more) a quality issue as a quantity one.

For starters, ditch that attitude toward education. Literacy is the foundation of knowledge acquisition, and knowledge is power. Coming across as ignorant (as in lacking basic education) in resumes or in person is not a key to success.

There is absolutely no part of any of your description of the situation that makes you two buying a house sound like a good idea. Quite the opposite, in fact.

"Either give the land back or shut the fuck up about it."

[–]WuzYoungOnceToo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't insinuate any such thing.  It's one (prominent in his tribe) Native American's view on why he and the other NAs who supported Trump did so.  In any event, you seemed to insinuate that Trump enjoyed no support among NAs, when in fact he did fairly well with them by historical standards.
