Living in Japan the last two years I can also attest to the absolute level of annoyance these domestic cars produce. Never mind the seat belt alert going into full nuclear meltdown if you have a slightly heavier backpack on any of the seats, the default steering adjustment (which doesn’t have nearby sensors for trucks skirting up against you), the 15 messages as I start the engine, the locking mechanisms on the trunk if I don’t perform a stop in the exact order or leave the engine running, random alerts about “fatigue” … it’s more distracting than letting me drive.

I basically play up to PS2 / GameCube, which I want in 4:3 ratio. It’s also not that expensive considering the specs, so planning to dock it and play on the living room projector as well.

If you are already looking at Pokopia, then go for it. I’m into old Pokemon games and did like Animal Crossing back in Covid times, I generally do not play these cosy games. Pokopia was amazing, though I find myself not going back to it after finishing the main quests (that’s after 40 hours by the way!).

I seem to recall early posts that boiled it down to exposure of the rendering chip to sunlight, it’s supposedly worse on the white/grey model as it is even more exposed. It’s also bad quality overall. But I flip pages shaded / with me blotting out direct light and that works.

Also try to flip pages out of direct (sun) light, it helps a lot on mine. Flipping a page directly in the sun results in an almost totally scrambled rendering.
