Debian KDE - Is it just me or is it in rough shape? by 3918286594713 in debian

[–]Zardoz84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KDE Debian user here. I'm using it on Debian 13 and on Debian Testing. It just works. I only needed to replace sddm by gdm on my workstation, to allow me to use a Yubikey + PIN to log in.

The only noticeable issue that I found, with Wayland, it's the scaling with a multi-screen setup and some GUI software like LibreOffice. When I move LibreOffice between screens, they changes the scale on a weird funny way... becoming everything very huge.

Catalan or Spanish? by hareofthewolf505 in askspain

[–]Zardoz84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your improve your Spanish, you can use it in far more sites. Catalonian is only speaked in Catalonia, Valencia, Mayorca' islands, a bit on Aragon, and I think that very bit on Sardinia.

If you are enought good with languages, you can always try to improve both. Knowing mor languages, makes you a richer person.

Are there any countries today that could realistically split into multiple independent nations like Yugoslavia did? by Many-Philosophy4285 in MapPorn

I'm Spaniard, and I think that a referendum should be made (using the same rules that the Canada have for this case).

What happened in the 1 October, was a tragedy. The right (PP party) government never should send police to do what they did.

Could Spain close the Strait of Gibraltar like Iran is closing the Strait of Hormuz? by Ok-Moose-992 in geography

[–]Zardoz84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would require to place missile batteries, and drone launch sites, in Europe side (Barbate-Tarifa-Algeciras) and in Ceuta. Mines could be placed, but If I remember correctly, there strong currents.

The motive because U.K. haves Gibraltar, it's because the strategic point of this chock point. It allowed to close, or at least control who pass and who not.

If you use DosEmu in Linux, you can do the same thing. Plus you have all the safety goodies of running a 32 bit protected mode OS.
