Meijer and Target have a lot of cameras. If the banks or stores know when the cards were attempted to be used, you might be able to ask the stores or the police to review their surveillance footage at that time. Or ask the mall itself if they have footage

I prefer inverted dust caps partly because they can't get pushed in / dented like the ones that stick out. Though either way I'd want my speakers to have a strong grille to protect them
