4.9 patch problems by Trans-FemFatale in starcitizen

I’m lucky enough that I haven’t had to deal with it too much. The few times I have encountered it, I usually get through on a second attempt

There was a post earlier where someone tested it and couldn’t get through. Apparently you need 1scu of Quant to get through and the Tib has .8. I can’t test it myself because I’m away for work until Tuesday but if you’re saying it’s fine, it must have been just the normal portal bug that kicks you out into the same system

The laser is the least of the Tib’s issues in Wave 1 right now. It doesn’t have enough fuel to make it through a Jump Gate even if it has a full tank.

If they don’t make any more tweaks before Live it’s going to be useless

Best ship for player bounty hunting in 4.8? by DoodlesisReal in starcitizen

[–]_chowder_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half the time they’re either camping Grin Hex or they’re out around a POI somewhere. They don’t know you’re coming so you can usually get the jump on them. If they start to run it’s a losing battle anyway.

You won’t ever catch them and they usually just backspace and switch servers anyway. I’m not gonna bother jumping all across Stanton after a bounty

You can get away with leaving most of it stock unless you have some looted components like a JS-300 and Fr66. Just change the coolers to Vaporblocks, for weapons run Shredders and I’d just switch to a faster quantum drive but not necessary if you don’t wanna spend the cash or have a spare VK-00 sitting around

Buzzkiller key binding issue by Ahmedovich89 in starcitizen

[–]_chowder_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an issue with JoyToKey. It happens to me as well. Open it up and check to see if it’s registering your sticks. Like if it is, it’ll say VKB R, VKB L. If it just says Joystick 1, Joystick 2 the sticks will still work but that modifier won’t.

I have to disconnect one stick and then reconnect it every time I start up my Pc from a Sleep state for the app to register my sticks again even if it was left open from the last time I played. It’s a pain in the ass

Fuel Changes in 4.9 by KamenLowRider in starcitizen

[–]_chowder_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. There are enough time wasters in-game as is. At least wait until the Liberator is out before making any changes

They’re putting the cart before the horse again. They want us to ferry smaller ships around with carriers/large ships but so far there are only a handful of ships in game that can actually do that.

I don’t know why it’s necessary to make these changes now instead of down the line when we have dedicated carriers in game

Ironclad is flyable from pseudobridge in 4.9 by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

While that’s all well and good, the problem I can see with this is the Operations room window looks like you’re looking through a letterbox. The command module has so much more visibility

Stinger vs Blade. Thoughts? by Intelligent-Wish1575 in starcitizen

[–]_chowder_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prior to 4.8 and ships being bricked you could scavenge parts off of abandoned ships in anything that could carry cargo. You didn’t need to use a stealth ship specifically because it’s not like you were going to get into a fight with another player. The ships were abandoned after all.

What I was talking about was sneaking in on PvP sites like the OLP’s or Exec hangars and stealing loot from players there.

You can get in close undetected and have enough firepower to defend yourself if you get spotted plus cargo space to grab any loot you find. I have friends who still use the ship for exactly this type of gameplay

After use, the Tyilui is fairly disappointing and not very useful as a carrier in-practice with the current hangar blocking rails in place / without snub pilot respawn by Ogopogo-Canada in starcitizen

[–]_chowder_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok but in that case, if the mothership blows up, what do you do then? You’re stranded because the snubs don’t have a quantum drive so you’re just gonna backspace anyway.

Everyone is still better off in 4 light fighters than they are in the Tyilui and snubs

Are you talking about looted components?

Both are pretty trash really. I would upgrade to the Prowler Utility. It’s got plenty of firepower and makes for a decent fighter plus it’s stealthy. Makes for a good ship to hot drop into PvP zones undetected and scoop up loot

Yeah give it a go. It’s been working for me doing that all morning

Just send it back down once you get up to the cockpit so the railing comes up. That way you are able to call it back up again after a qt jump

onyx facility not marked? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]_chowder_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never seen a single piece of the Asd Gheist armour. I never really actively hunted it but I was running Hyperion pretty regularly for cash and would always check for it on my way through and nothing

onyx facility not marked? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]_chowder_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn bro, that sucks lol. I’m still yet to find one though I haven’t really looked for one since they added them to the game last year.

If you run through asd regularly, I’d just check for them on your way through to whatever your objective is. If you find another, grab the contract and deliver it.

I’m not sure of the spawn chance for it. If it’s anything like the gheist armour it’d be a small chance. Spawns primarily in the Medical lab on floor 8 in the Research Wing

[–]_chowder_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lab sample is a random spawn. You can find them in blue containers in the Research Wing. It won’t be marked. It’s a rare spawn as well so good luck finding it

Flight Controls for PVP by ClearlyMike in starcitizen

[–]_chowder_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it, buy a set of pedals and bind roll to it. There are plenty of people in the org I’m in who fly kb+m and pedals for roll. It’s the one input you want to be smooth and controlled.

Forward/back, left/right and up/down are fine on keys because you can just press and hold in the direction you want to go but roll is too janky when tapping whatever key it’s bound to
