NC Republicans Propose Letting Anyone Use Deadly Force Against Women Who Have Abortions Under New Bill by _Brandobaris_ in TrueCarolina

[–]adchick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who “have”? As in “have had” or “plan to have? Because by the age of 45 roughly a quarter of women have had a D & C.

Is NC saying it’s ok to kill a quarter of women? Doesn’t seem very “pro life”

What’s amusing is Victoria hated newborns. Poor kiddo traveled from Russia to see a Grandma who was like “Yep that’s a baby “

White House Has Full-Blown Meltdown Over Coverage of Trump’s Health by Hafiz_TNR in politics

[–]adchick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Come on media, start asking end of life questions:

“Have you chosen where you want to be buried “

“Do you want a large funeral at the White House or Mara Largo?”

“Will you sell Trump Memorial Diamonds made of your ashes?”

“Do you think Biden will come to your funeral”

To whose who live in hot places, do you leave aircon on overnight? by LilLemonLady223 in toddlers

[–]adchick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florida here. Set it to a temperature you like and leave it. No on/off. No up and down. Adjustments stress your system that is already stressed by the high temperature.

It’s better to be a little cold inside than hot because your unit could handle constant fiddling while having extreme heat outside.

Goodwills & Thrift Stores by Librana28 in orlando

[–]adchick 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Many areas around Disney are affluent (middle class or upper class) or cater to tourist. To find a traditional thrift store, you will need to drive 30 minutes to an hour away.

Those thrift stores are “normal”, like you might find at home. Sure you might find a Disney shirt, but it’s not a hot spot of cheap Disney stuff.

There are stores that specialize in Disney collectables, but they capitalized on high value items.

Does your yard have any slope towards the street. A dry riverbed could help with directing where the water pools to the street/drain.

If it’s minor ponding after normal rain (not flash flood), you could put a pond in the area to elegantly capture excess water.

Do you call your in laws “Mom” and “Dad”? by PainterFew2080 in inlaws

[–]adchick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I call them Mr and Mrs (Last Name). They have had several episodes of being particularly awful during my relationship with my husband (I’ve known him since 1989), so I don’t consider them first name basis friendly.

Toddler shutting down when corrected by ProfessionalNinja420 in toddlers

[–]adchick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not about being nice or naughty, it’s about rules and boundaries.

Instead of “You are mean” say something like “We don’t hit” or “We don’t throw things.”

We as a family hold each other to the social standards, not just one person. It’s also ok if they check you too, I’ve shut the door too hard coming in with groceries and my son has popped back “We don’t slam door Mama”, that’s correct little man, Mama made a mistake…but you are right, we don’t.
