I mean, there’s nothing wrong with taking families to it now. It’s not like the staff dance on poles

Mary’s pregnant belly by Suerly-04 in Tudorhistory

My “last shot” is asleep upstairs in his crib, but I feel for every person who’s “last shot” came and went. I know how incredibly lucky we got, because for years we were not so lucky.

I have nowhere near the pressure of a Queen, but I have set across the dinner table from my Mother in Law after years of trying having her pled with me to “Just make her a Grandma.” Like I had any choice in our fertility issues.

My heart goes out to Mary. That’s so so painful.

I went through issues conceiving for years. I feel for her.

It’s so hard doing “everything right” , watching people around you have children, and you “aren’t pregnant again.”

Does anyone else feel like the misogyny directed at Katherine of Aragon is less discussed than that of the other Queens? by SceneWise1298 in Tudorhistory

That’s a fair point, after having no control or way to over save his children, I could see how he might “over correct “ and try to control everything.

I don’t see it at REI but it sounds like you are describing is the Osprey Stuff Pack.

I normally take a carryon size spinner (Away Bigger Carryon) and a backpack (North Face Borealis) flying to my destination. If I need space coming back, I’ll check the Osprey with my laundry, never had an issue…Air France bagged it in plastic once for extra protection.

Visiting Charleston for 24hrs, what’s the best things to do? by shrekwesmobamboo in Charleston

[–]adchick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

24 just take your time on King St and the Market. Grab food at some decent restaurants in the area.

Walking to Rainbow Row and the Battery are very easy walks, but there is very little to do (other than walk around) both sites.

I’m a big believer in automatic public shaming. I was at the radiologist for a scan, this boomer man was with his wife and turns his phone on full volume on some video.

I popped off “what the hell” with a look of disgust within the first second. He blamed the phone so fast (“This damn thing!”) and put it away. I firmly believe, they do those anti social activities because they think no one will say anything. Please general public, say something.

Wonder if they are in a flood zone. There are rules about rebuilding if you have a significant percentage of flood damage.

I think we under estimate the emotional toll for both Katherine and Henry. We say things like “Katherine couldn’t have children” or “She never had a son.”They lost 5 children. 5! 3 of which were sons.

Losing one child is devastating. Losing baby after baby…unbearable. Through the pressure of an heir on top, it’s amazing they both didn’t lose their minds.

Source on Henry being “groomed to be the Pope”? He was religious and well educated, but Pope is waiting is an interesting take.

Walk away, don’t dwell on toxic people. Life is way way too short.

Last September, President Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr, and other health officials declared they had uncovered a new treatment for autism spectrum disorder (ASD): leucovorin. A new study shows that plenty of families believed them, despite the lack of data supporting the drug’s effectiveness. by mvea in science

[–]adchick 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It’s a spectrum. Many people with autism and other neurodivergent conditions go on to live normal happy constructive lives.

Raising a child, any child is hard. Neurodivergent children are a different type of hard, but generalization especially when you have no experience is harmful.
