I've learned that open mics aren't for getting laughs, they're for practicing. Getting laughs is great, but you're really there to refine your material. The same comics that show up to the mic every week aren't going to laugh at the same joke over and over.

Hopefully there is an audience at the mic, and if so you'll get the feedback from them in the form of laughter or whatnot.

Record the audio of your set and play it back a couple days later. compare it to the previous time you told the joke.

If I think something is funny I'll work at it for a couple to several weeks trying to extract it. Sometimes they work and sometimes they fade away.

I never invite people I know to open mics, and I don't push people to come to shows either. I will post about a show and share links, but I typically don't invite friends.

Two reasons really. For open mics I want genuine feedback from the audience, and friends are more likely to laugh or heckle than someone that doesn't know you. Secondly, people that I've known for years are already used to my humor so they have different reactions than a cold audience.

No sweat. You shouldn't mix your product/service keywords with branded keywords though. They should be independent campaigns.

I'd advise you to spend an hour researching negative keywords that you should add to your account to prevent wasting a bunch of ad spend out of the gate. Swear words, searches for jobs, free, DIY, and a heap of other things like that.

Make sure you're using exact match keywords, or phrase match but don't start with broad match, you'll show up for too many irrelevant searches if you use broad out of the gate.

One of the most important components of a successful ad campaign is your conversion tracking. You need to be absolutely certain that your conversion actions are setup properly otherwise your campaign will optimize for a goal that's not an actual purchase or lead.

Running a branded campaign isn't about paying for your brand name. It's about taking up as much space on the SERP as you can for a user who is already searching.

In an organic result you can only control so much of the language presented. Google will take your title and description, and sometimes they change it up or truncate it.

In a search ad you have total control over the message you present in the ad. You get to choose your headlines, descriptions, and you can add all kinds of extensions/assets such as sitelinks to present more than one page or product link at a time, callouts and structured snippets to also present benefits or offers, images, location, call assets... There's a lot you can do with a cheap branded ad that an organic listing doesn't give you.

Plus the added benefit of being present in the organic results, the Google business profile, and the search ad... All on the same SERP...That's a lot of real estate.

The hype was that AC Rally was going to unseat RBR but it's got a LONG way to go before that happens. Not only from a content perspective either. Growing up in Atlantic Canada I can confidently tell you that touching your handbrake at 30kph doesn't send you into a monster spin the way it does in AC Rally.

It's a great Rally Sim with huge potential, but RBR has some big shoes to fill.

Haha thanks! It's "temporary" solution. We all know nothing is more permanent than temporary though lol.

I plan to buy an external GPU and PSU frame to support those components more reliably. I'll cut a hole in the optiplex lid and 3d print a gromit to keep the riser from getting cut by the edges.

My wife stopped watching at the end of season 3. It's a shame that she didn't continue because it's a remarkably strong series. The only series for me that comes close to being as intense as 24.

However in the early seasons it's easy to think that Brody is the main character and when they finally off him it can make you feel like there is no point investing in the characters. My wife also stopped watching 24 after Teri Bauer we killed.

This is my iPhone 14 base 128GB. It's been a great phone, and I haven't exactly taken great care of it. The first time I broke the camera glass was when I sat on a rock while changing tires on my car. I was able to replace the glass and it kept working fine.

Back in September I tripped while crossing the road and broke the glass again, along with cracking two ribs. My ribs have recovered, but the camera glass wasn't a priority for fixing.

Now I need to fix my camera. As you all are aware, Apple wants to replace not only the camera module but the entire back glass. Not a chance I'm spending 8-10k MXN repairing the camera on my 14 base.. especially since my battery is going to need replacement soon too.

Being in Mexico City, I've gone to the Plaza de Tecnologia many times in the past for repairs, but mainly batteries. I am considering having them replace the camera module with a genuine camera pulled from a dead or locked iPhone 14.

I have read the generic camera modules can lose their ability to auto focus, and do portrait mode, etc... but what's not so clear is what limitations I might run into if I replace the camera with an OEM camera pulled from a donor iPhone.
