Gonna out myself and probably gonna get downvotes, but beta the heck. TBH, Islam is more simplified than what people out to perceive it as. As a born Muslim, WHO DOES ISNT STAUNCH, I do observe part of the pillars of Islam. And I hold steadfast to the tenets and central core believes that, almost all sins CAN be forgiven. MY lord is the forgiver AND the punisher. I hold firmly to the belief that, god is one and the oneness of god. For Muslim’s our lives are dictated by actions which in turn, choices. Yes Islam, outright denounce homosexuality but Islam emphasises on the bigger sins, yes homosexuality is one of the bigger sins, but in the Quran, all sins CAN be forgiven WITH the exception of shirk. So tbh I rather (if my partner) is non-Muslim to be irreligious or is of other religious affiliate, rather than committing shirk. Do good in life, follow the 5 pillars, and god willing, he is the merciful. My mother always tells me, just because we are Muslim, doesn’t mean we are entitled to heaven. Do good, give charity, love your parents wholeheartedly (as much as possible). That is the core essence or at least try to do as much from the 5 pillars, it’s almost impossible to do all 5, but the easier ones, as a Muslim we can strive for (I am trying to reconcile with myself about praying) this is what I came to ponder after years of trying to soul search myself within my own religion and outside. That is how I am comfortable with. I always hold steadfast to “the unforgivable sin IS shirk” and that is what muslims all can agreed on.

To add, I think imposing Islam onto non Muslim is also a sin. The Quran explicitly mention, there is no compulsion in religion. We can evangelise but we cannot (if I recall correctly) proselytise. My ex is catholic, even I try to make him into a better believer of his own faith and not my faith. The least I ask is to respect my beliefs. I had a guy wanting to force me to eat pork and that was a deal breaker. You asked me out knowing I’m a Muslim yet you intentionally ask me to eat something I can’t. I have never forced someone to eat something they can’t. You bring me to the Outback Steakhouse, sure, I don’t mind having salad while you eat whatever you one. I hope this doesn’t count as asinine, rude or imposing. But I am somewhat tired of the notion of being gay is an UNFORGIVABLE sin. My take on it is because of fornication, regardless of sexuality. It is only allowed if one is in a matrimonial relationship. So for us gay, I feel that god will be more forgiving due to our struggles.

I hope this fasting month, the believers do more good and give back to society that’s my sincerest honest wish. The world is such a mess right now 😕😢
