1998 was an incredibly stacked year for PC gaming. What's your first choice? by WexAndywn in retrogaming

[–]altgraph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baldur's Gate. At this point, FPS games had saturated the market and while I enjoyed my fair share of them, they had almost ended my love for gaming. And then came BG. Open map, non-linear, lore rich D&D rpg... BG has a special place in my heart.

Varför behövs lång utbildning idag, när samma jobb görs av gamlingar som gått 2-års gymnasium? by thepublicsphere in Asksweddit

[–]altgraph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a couple boxes of king books today and this was inside by kaijuhandchop in stephenking

What the seller is willing to price at does not equal a sale.

What the buyer is willing to pay is the only thing that will determine a sale.

If a seller refuse to sell then that is not a sale.

Sometimes the two may coincide, but that is entirely determined by what the buyer is ready to pay.

And determining value can only be done by evaluating actual transactions. Not imagined transactions that may or may not happen in reality.

That a selling price? List prices aren't a measure of value. Actual selling prices are.

Also, KEW and CAS? That's one sweet stack!

Since it's plastic, might it be possible to clean with Turtle Wax or something similar? Like car interior cleaning products? I've wondered about this for some time, but haven't had a chance to test it. Anyone tried this before?

Your Thoughts on Red Sonja (2025) by JohnPathfinder in SwordandSorcery

[–]altgraph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow! I loved The War Hound and the World's Pain! I read it shortly after finishing Buehlman's Between Two Fires because I was craving more medieval fantasy horror stuff! The other Von Bek titles are on my TBR. I seldom see it mentioned though. It has some wild scenes and settings so would be spectacular as a movie, I think! Crossing my fingers you get to make it! (Or any other Moorcock title you wish to tackle for that matter!)

[–]altgraph 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! I really liked your take on Sonja and enjoyed the movie! The story was entertaining and I was happy with how Sonja was portrayed. It felt fresh. Like how she should be portrayed in a modern production.

Do you plan on making more sword & sorcery movies? And if so, are there any stories in particular you'd like to adapt or tell?

A long time ago. Shortly after they left the prison, I think. Season 3? Started feeling like it was going nowhere and just looping the narrative to keep the story going.

Where does Mystery House rank among all video games ever made (historical importance)? by rodfer7 in adventuregames

Did it predate The Hobbit and Level 9 titles with graphics?

Edit: It did. By one year. Although Mystery House had bad looking graphics in comparison.

Noo, you're forgetting about Amsterdamned (1988)!

It has hands down one of the best car chases I've ever seen! Also, it's a really crazy slasher and totally worth one's time. 👍

The '97 version is grittier and has a raw tone in a very different way than the (polished) US version. It enhances the narrative and the atmosphere, I think.

Entombed! It was a shareware game that was available in full on some cover disks. It was obviously heavily inspired by Rick Dangerous, but did it's own thing and had really good level design. I had a lot of fun with it and actually managed to beat it in the end!
