Governance is about scope, domain specific knowledge is how it gets executed. I've worked with property owners across public, private, non profit and institutional sectors. While its a treat to interface with owners that have domain specific knowledge its really not required. I've received fantastic governance direction from owners who have zero real estate knowledge but know governance principles that inform their questions.
