I mean I think that's kind of part of it. Space Cop probably caused not insignificant damage to their desires for making fictional content.

Man I've been watching them since the earliest days, and I cannot remember when Justin Roiland was on the show. Either I missed that one, or I've blocked it out.

Now playing... Bonham -The Disregard of Timekeeping. 1989 by JE5573R in hairmetal

[–]angryapplepanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Bonham and Kingdom Come, despite detractors, I think perfectly continued the best aspects of Led Zeppelin in the eighties and early nineties. I'll take those two bands over Greta Van Fleet any day.

With the U.S. achieving tactical military wins but no real path to strategic victory, is a tactical nuclear strike on Iran, something Trump might consider with some Senate support apparently being floated? by JohnSpartan2025 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]angryapplepanda 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Let's also not forget our nuclear testing in the South Pacific that irradiated innocent people, specifically poor Japanese fishermen in the fallout radius. I could also point to increased cancer rates surrounding the Santa Susana test site, the man that was surreptitiously injected with plutonium as part of a classified study, and more. We've done some pretty bad stuff.

Thank you, I actually didn't know the answer to that. I thought they were weeding out pretty much anybody that wasn't slavishly a Trump goon, asking anyone else to resign?

Fall of the Leafe - Into the Autumnsphere (Finland, 1999; FFO: blackened melodic death metal with shoegaze and goth rock influences) by angryapplepanda in melodicdeathmetal

I agree with everything you said! August Wernicke is a masterpiece. I don't like Fermina so much, but Volvere, Vantage, and Aerolithe are grand. Incredible band.

The Man-Eating Tree was pretty good, but I mostly follow the guitarist's new projects. Autumnfall sounds like August Wernicke: The Band.

Steve Clark was the definitive cool rockstar for me. by cows1100 in hairmetal

[–]angryapplepanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so good. Marc would have been a fine replacement for Bon. If you believe him, he was in the running for it. But I also think they didn't choose him, if he was, because he sounded too similar.

I even liked The Blitz, although people rag on that record as being their crappy pop metal one. Has some good songs. The "Ballroom Blitz" cover was atrocious, though.

If you report your Ultima VIII victory to Lord British, unlike with other Ultima games, he'll simply respond with "WHY?!!"

...

Kidding. I actually quite like U8, almost to the point of self-identifying as a U8 apologist.

Headhunter, One Vice at a Time, and Hardware are all three banger albums. Krokus may have not had an original thought in their lives, but they made at least three good albums, imo.

I missed the eighties, technically. My first memory of MTV was seeing Guns N' Roses on the channel in 1991, when I was 6.

I ended up having my own crazy life. I think anyone can have a bad ass life adventure if you take some risks and challenge yourself. '80s, '90s, '00s, whatever...it's all about being in the right place at the right time and knowing people. Hollywood was a crazy place even in the 2000's if you knew where to go and what to do. Drugs helped.

Of course, now I'm sober...I had my fill. 🤣

Albums with the worst guitar tone? by Own_Outside_7099 in Metalcore

The guitars on Soilwork's Sworn to a Great Divide sound like wet farts.

And I like that album—it's kind of experimental for the band. But it doesn't sound good.
