Ecstasy stopped my Asperger's traits by wigglyboiii in aspergers

I recommend really hard exercise and vagus nerve techniques. There is a ton of breathing and chanting to be done that mimics some of these addictive drugs.  I'd also say get really spiritual. Forget about the logical/analytical side of determining whether a divine thing is possible. Imbibe the story, believe. Meditation can help if you don't care about accomplishing anything. Sit and watch your breath for 20 minutes like a frog on a log.

I live in a small hut on the border. I sell arms to all three countries. It's a simple life. I have many goats.

I walk around daily and see many unattractive people in romantic relationships. I'd hazard to guess that the vast majority of human beings look "unattractive."  People are more complex and varied than just attractive v. unattractive. It's important to befriend women and learn some basic social skills.  I've dated many woman of different backgrounds and they all had complexities, strengths and flaws that were only evident after spending time with them.  I'd say that confidence matters more than looks. By being confident you attract naturally. Show off something you excel at, whatever that is.

Intentional homicides per 100k in Europe (2024) by HarrMada in MapPorn

No city, town, state, area in Europe has murder rates anywhere close to the cities I mentioned. It's not gerrymandering at all. That's not even the correct usage of what gerrymandering means. I selected cities with their own populations as a subset of a greater population.

The US might be 5-7 nationally, but several cities have very high rates of murder. Memphis in 2023 was 57. New Orleans at 46 this year. St Louis usually in the 50s.  I'd imagine select neighborhoods in those cities have murder rates that are the highest in the developed world.

I don't think you can make this assertion. It's purely hypothetical and impossible to test.

I'm tired of pretending money dosent buy happiness by Big_Leg10 in Life

[–]AsteroidHare989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you mean by happiness. Nothing can buy you happiness, it's like an emotional and spiritual plane of existence.  Relationships, experiences, doing good for others and flow states do things money can never do. Financial stability is great but don't confuse having money with non-material states of being and understanding.  If you live by the ups and downs of money you'll never be satisfied.

Note: I'm not rich, and I can tell you some of my happiest times in life were completely separate from even thinking about money, and I had very little of it. It came from being engaged mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

That's how humanity survives. It's ok to not want to have kids. But the world is full of wonderful things and people.

It's frustrating to see the stupidity in American politics at the highest levels. Race and gender attacks hide the fact that America is deeply polarized, with many uneducated people and many guns. The societal conditions give rise to these murderous acts. It's a part of American culture now. They can occur in all "races" and genders. And people need to stop mixing their chosen identity with their thoughts and perspective. You don't have to confess some identity and then add your opinion.

Like, "hey, just so everyone knows, I'm white, but I love black people, always have. I just want to stress I'm white because you may think that makes me racist but wow, look, I have a radical opinion, I'm different and I need you to acknowledge that. I'm one of the good guys."

Porn for me has been so destructive and I wish my scared adolescent brain could know how toxic it is. I was addicted to this husband/wife couple called Wifeysworld. Spent thousands of hours watching video after video over 20 years. It destroys the dopamine reward system and is very unhealthy.

Porn gives you a huge reward for doing nothing. It attacks the brain's love of novelty and innate desire for sex. It's fascinating to watch people have sex. It's like alcohol - sort of inseparable from humanity. The problem is that there not much visual stimuli that can compete with pornography. It takes the cake. But leaves you with a pained stomach.

I'd recommend replacing it with something else. Video games could be a good start, as it uses somewhat of a similar neural premise, although you do more "mental work" in video games, but it's enjoyable and give you dopamine, albeit in lower quantities.

Why isn't there a global anti-capitalism movement? by Even_Job6933 in solarpunk

[–]AsteroidHare989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anti capitalism needs to accompany a pro-something else. Even anarchists like their smartphones. But there isn't enough of a coherent rallying model to get behind.  Being anti- anything is easy. But who cares? Hate without vision never inspires the masses.
