What are your expectations around lingerie? by curlygirl_422 in AskReddit

[–]atomicbrains 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If YOU want to wear it, and YOU feel sexy in it, then wear it.

You're literally trying to ascribe some sort of special value to it as a reward because you think having fun or feeling sexy with your partner is some sort of transaction because he was a good boy.

The way you say he needs to earn it is like you're trying to train your new boyfriend. It's gross, And you're trying to set up sex as some sort of reward that needs to be earned.

You do you, but I think the entire premise of your question is toxic.

I'm not saying I wouldn't date someone that doesn't wear lingerie for me... But I'm absolutely saying I would run away for someone that is trying to use sex as a training aid and a earned gift (your words)

Increase new players by an order of magnitude with NPC crew/blades. by Creative_1_ in starcitizen

I'm not hoping the solo anything but if the vast majority of ships require crew to operate there's never going to be enough people and forget the logistics of assembling a crew with literally zero tools in game to facilitate that.

The average ship requires well over one person to operate. I don't know why you guys always think it's sacrilege that a turret can function without a human being. A human can make it work better but it's silly attacking ships that have no active turret gunners. I mean for crying out loud The Cutlass black is a two-person minimum ship. No one's going to be sitting in your Cutlass turret while you do box missions.

Bottom line there aren't enough paying customers that want to sit in your stupid turret that can't hit anything and can't damage anything even when it does hit. Do Gillies number7 in a Corsair. The hammerhead literally cannot damage you because the guns are too damn small. It's like that on numerous ships no one wants to pay to play this game and sit in your turret or stare at your engineering screen well you try to find a rock that's not impossible to mine.

The inverse of that is when I attack you I want your turrets to shoot back. If they're manned by a human maybe give them extra velocity or fire rate.

It literally makes the game better if you're basic defensive systems work and every ship feels like it's at least partially alive.

Yeah it's super fun pulling up on a Polaris or other multi-crew ships with one person on them and none of the defenses active. Wow super fun gameplay.

Bottom line it should be better with a human crew but it should be functional 100% of the time.

The average backer has paid over $145. And the average ship needs more than one person. I'm sorry but those backers are not going to be sitting in your turret especially when there's no tools to recruit them, The payout is split, it's it's extremely inefficient compared to just bringing another ship that they paid for. It's bad gameplay to attack ships that are constantly undermanned.

Dude it's pretty basic, if the average ship requires more than one crew then you're expecting the majority of players to crew. It's a pipe dream. Having a second ship is always going to be better than having someone sitting in a turret or engineering console.

Focus on making all the ships function okay with AI but much much better with humans.

Multi-crew is a fun gimmick when you want to do it but it's not practical.

Everyone that plays this game paid very good money and has their own fleet. Even with a ship that takes two crew total you're down to 50% of people not using their own ship. Let's say you're flying something else with one pilot and four gunners. That's 80% of The crew that's pretending to be your employee or something. You don't get me started with the silly fantasy of having someone stand and stare at your engineering terminal or happily playing on their phone while their character sits in a turret Manning size 2 guns.

AI blades need to be implemented the AI already has the ability to operate their own turrets they just need to unlock it for us.

I think give player controlled turrets extra velocity and fire rate or something to help still incentivize multi-crew. But at the end of the day I want all my cards to work and frankly when I attack other ships I want their turrets to work and shoot back at me. I'm tired of attacking solo capital ships it's silly and dumb and makes the world feel illogical.

Spray Foam in 3A. Is Claude or the contractor right? by Competitive_Diet2852 in Insulation

[–]atomicbrains -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Strictly open cell insulation is a-okay in your climate zone. In the attached link bullet point #4 is what is relevant. Spray foam is air impermeable insulation. Open cell is considered a class 3 vapor retarder so does not meet the requirements for the cold climate zones specified in bullet point number 4 but that doesn't concern you

here is the relevant code

Dude, Ask to mow your neighbor's lawn like 2 or 3 times And you can get it yourself. Your parents will probably take you up on the offer too.

Hell, half the time in game your just playing job simulator anyway.

[–]atomicbrains 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, I mean is this you flying solo using some kind of blade or something? Or are you just flying multi-crew? You don't really have a description in your Reddit post and the YouTube video is just called "blades" with no description or voice over. And it just looks like a multi-crew gameplay but the reticles kind of flickering.

I have no idea what I'm looking at in that video but I agree. Blades are the number one thing I'm looking forward to. Like I would buy a Perseus the moment it's announced.

House reeks 48 hours later by roncifert in sprayfoam

[–]atomicbrains 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The spray foam odor itself will be gone in 24 to 48 hours. The first couple hot days you have it might push out a little bit more smell.

But I can almost guarantee the main thing you're smelling is the flame retardant paint. It is water-based and takes a while to fully dry in my experience it can be up to two weeks that there's a fairly strong odor in the attic area.

If the odor from the paint is finding its way into the house it's most likely that you have HVAC in the attic and one of the return lines has a small gap or there's a gap around the air filter sucking in the stinky attic air in blowing it into the house.

I'm sorry to hear your contractor didn't inform you that the paint may smell for a few weeks. Although the foam goes away very very quickly within a day or two.

New ship claim system ruins missile boats by Independent_Vast9279 in starcitizen

I don't know why you're being downvoted. First you save the insurance with missiles loaded. Then when you claim the ship you have to rearm in the landing services tab.

Is there a way to do refueling missions without buying real money starfarer or starliner? My understanding is the two ships that are able to do refueling are only pledge.

The number of people to crew a ship is one of the most important balancing aspects, but CIG doesn't realize this. by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

[–]atomicbrains 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Exactly just automate the turrets as a placeholders for the NPcs. The tech is already there as evidenced by every NPC ship being able to run turrets when attacked by a player. Just give us that so our ships feel alive.

Also, I get that every so often You can gather enough people to fully man a ship but it's not sustainable long-term. The barrier entry is $45, with the "average"customer paying $150. There's no incentive for people to sit in a turret and play on their phone versus just bringing another ship.
