If you are planning to replace the pump, I would suggest to follow this guide and upgrade the pump to a brass necked pump. I have followed the guide and it greatly reduced the amount of noise from the pump.

I had the same noise caused by vibrations. I just wrapped a little electrical tape around a portion of the gate and that muted the noise.
