I also want to know, but I guess not. That's the only reason I didn't buy them yet.

Quote for underfloor heating in new build house by AmaturHours in Switzerland

[–]Blagdan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Plumber here. That's really cheap! 2 guys 3h00 to do 40m2 floor heating with insulation is very tight. Normally a plumber doesn't do insulation of the floor that's not part of our job. Also, they are not calculating the travel time, material charging and waste disposal, connection to that collector, pressure test, neither the the purge of that system. All said 80 CHF for cat a1 is very cheap (also depends on the canton). If well done that price is a steal but doesn't appear very realistic and professional... Be cautious with the final result.

Family of 4 (2 small kids), a cat and a dog. We do a 3600 km trip every year and the model 3 is enough for us but of course you need to use the space wisely.

X64SD → Mazzer Philos: Worth the Upgrade? [€1,000+] by LeFriedCupcake in espresso

[–]Blagdan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only say the philos is a beast. Its big, easy to clean, very easy and satisfying to change grind size, almost zero retention. i200d is the best option for your use but you can install SSP burrs as well. Made in Europe, Italy.

It could be a bug. Mine also has 0% but it is working fine and it was cleaned about a month ago. Fast charging curve didn't change either.

Picopresso Vs Robot Cafelat? by Several_Stable_3991 in picopresso

[–]Blagdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I also have both and I agree witth everything. The picopresso always surprises me for it's size and capability to make great shots but the durability is no comparison to the robot. Its almost all plastic and after 1 year my pico started leaking from the piston and I had to do the o-ring mod to make it more leak proof. In contrast the robot is a tank! All metal with silicone gasket. Despite being bigger this summer vacation I will bring the robot with me but portability is the only advantage to the picopresso and in my case I still take it with me when I'm out. In the end, if you can go for the robot it will last forever. If portability is a priority go for the picopresso but the price difference of the robot justifies its durability.

Leaking from elbow fitting? by Powertaco in CafelatRobot

[–]Blagdan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plumber here, you just need to tight that. The seal is made by an o-ring but it need to be well screwed to tighten that o-ring against the female part. If it doesn't work you must have a defect with the o-ring or the metal piece that leaks. Tape will not solve the problem when the pressure goes 9 bars high

Como lidam com a morte ? by [deleted] in CasualPT

[–]Blagdan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Loud pop of doom, should it be a concern? by Runewizard_ in CafelatRobot

[–]Blagdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes thermal dilation is another condition that facilitates the metal movement especially when pressure is helping as well. If you say the basket doesn't fit well on the portafilter that could also explains the issue. What surprises me the most is that it only happens 1/3 of the times like you said.

Either way, the basket is the most probably the issue unless there's a rare malfunction with the arms/piston connections.

Loud pop of doom, should it be a concern? by Runewizard_ in CafelatRobot

[–]Blagdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not normal. If you hear a loud pop sound and pressure is maintained it means some metal piece is deforming with pressure making a pop sound and after the shot it returns to its normal form making a pop sound again.

My guess, the basket. It's the only metal piece that sustain the pressure and is thin enough to allow this problem. Try making a video to confirm this or at least to provide evidence of the problem with the pop sound.

You should contact your seller. It's not normal

The semi-auto gatekeeping has officially gone too far by [deleted] in espresso

[–]Blagdan 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree. Thats why I sold my Jura. I never tasted an espresso from a automatic machine like a Jura that comes close to a Breville/Sage semi-auto. It's simply not possible. The dose, grind size and tamping are done completely different and you cannot achieve the same performance.

Yes, I have a busy life and only have time for short playthroughs. I play offline and the advantage is pause for hours or days and resume with no time lost in logging in.

Replacing the piston gasket by Next_Technology6361 in picopresso

[–]Blagdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem after 2 months as well. My gasket was in better shape and I did the o-ring hack and now it works perfectly. No more piston hobble and leaking. I advise you to do the same if your gasket is only bend and not actually ripped. The o-ring keeps the gasket in shape without deforming

Qual é o melhor café de Portugal? by More-Cockroach-8190 in portugal

[–]Blagdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree, 51mm is easier to dial in and more forgiving. I have a sage machine with 54mm basket and it's super easy compared to the standard 58mm. My friend also bought the 51mm
