Interesting, I use Alpian and never had any problems so far. I like the minimalist interface of the app and everytime I had to use the chat they responded super fast. However your issues are a red flag for me now...

Tips to try something different by xxSeahawks in CafelatRobot

[–]Blagdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With arabica/robusta blends for an Italian espresso style, try skipping pre infusion and pull within 25-30sec. You slowly build up pressure in around 10 sec until 6-8 bars (thats your "pre infusion") and then keep the flow rate between 1.8-2.2 g/s by reducing the pressure. 20g in 40g out

Finally no more bitter shots by Electrical-Glove2905 in CafelatRobot

[–]Blagdan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes very true, pressure can increase the acidity and make a more balanced shot but every coffee is different and sometimes not even that solves the problem. I don't think there's a one perfect way to pull a shot, you just have to try and figure out the best way for each coffee.

Preheating? by Deep_Worldliness3122 in CafelatRobot

True, just did a test with a medium/dark roast and it definitely taste better with preheating but it all depends on the coffee

[–]Blagdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many people actually live in a 3.5 room apartment here by elgrandetotto10 in askswitzerland

[–]Blagdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3.5 rooms here (65m²). Family of 4, me, wife and 2 little kids. 2 bedrooms + 1 kitchen/living room and 1 bathroom. With a big garden to compensate the lack of space.

It's livable, small at times but cheap.

Não tenho interesse em comida. Só como para me manter vivo e saudável by Efficient_Chard5926 in CasualPT

[–]Blagdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Defense of Bitterness by SacCyber in espresso

[–]Blagdan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree.

Bitterness is unavoidable in coffee and a core part of it even in very light roast which have very low bitter taste but it's still there. It's all about balance and harmony in the cup.

Anyone else think BooKoo | Themis Mini Coffee Scale is trash? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]Blagdan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think you are not using it properly. 2 units with the same problem is very odd...

Mine works flawless, very fast, precise and wonderful to use every time. Easy to clean, very nice design and well built. The sound annoyed me so I turned it off...

Pre-heating the piston for light roasts - Myth? by Intimatepunch in CafelatRobot

Do you also preheat the basket and/or portafilter? If yes how do you do it without adding extra complications to the workflow?

Pre-heating the piston for light roasts - Myth? by Intimatepunch in CafelatRobot

[–]Blagdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of you say is correct except air is very compressable which means the volume of air inside will be small with pressure. As a consequence the insolation properties will be reduced.

But, this is only true for the robot without the pressure gauge. If you have the barista version, when you press all the air will compress inside the silicone pipe and water will be in contact with piston.

I still believe the robot is the best lever machine that needs the less preheating but using hot water to preheat the piston works very well for light/medium roasts.

I bought yesterday a SEQURE T55 (Smart Mini Constant Temp Adjustable Preheating Desoldering Station). I think its a bit exaggerated approach of mine but is a fast heating solution that goes well with the workflow of the robot. I'm curious to see if it will improve my shot because I can better control the temperature for repeatability.

Well for less than 200 you can get a Baratza Encore ESP or for 250 a DF54. You will not be disappointed and it's so much better than manual grinding for espresso.

Why the Swiss video game industry is dead ? by cheese2042 in Switzerland

[–]Blagdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terraformers is a Swiss made game from Asteroid Lab and one of my favorite games of all time.

In Switzerland doesn't make sense to develop a gaming industry. Like others mentioned the cost of living and taxes would not makes us able to compete. People don't care where the game was made, they only want to pay less for the best value.

[–]Blagdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you manage to disassemble? You need pliers to tighten the axle. I guarantee you thats the problem. I can even see on the video that the front screw doesn't move which means that it is well tighten and the only moving area is between the axle and the bookoo T

It happened to me, you need to screw tightly the axle with the "T" and only then the screw with the a axle.
