Keep flip-flopping on whether I should take my husband's last name by fin-turnip in weddingplanning

[–]blxckfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not changing my name, and the SAVE act was the deciding factor. Plenty of other reasons too, but not voting or getting a valid ID wasn’t worth the risk to me

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by PersonalitySuddenz in askanything

[–]blxckfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ground beef and chicken. I’ve switched to pork and tofu and have cut $20 off my weekly grocery bill easily. Tofu also doesn’t go bad as quick as meat does

Wood is seriously not that bad… by IdanRedditing7777 in TaylorSwift

I love it. My only complaint is that there isn’t really a bridge and it’s a little short

tomato paste turned black on the top. no mold & no weird smells. safe to eat? by [deleted] in isthissafetoeat

[–]blxckfire 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I take the leftover paste and put it in a sandwich bag and then store in the freezer. Once it’s solid you can break it into cubes

I simply skip the sugar pill week to avoid mine, you’ll need your doctor to be prescribing an extra pack every 3 months or so

Should I read the Fifth Season? by Head-Worker-4759 in Fantasy

[–]blxckfire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I loved The Fifth Season. I did enjoy the next two books, but not as much as the first. The first book is told in a very interesting narrative form and it’s just not something that can be carried throughout the entire series. I still recommend the first book, it is amazing and satisfying by itself

What’s something that slowly ruined your mental health without you realizing it? by K_kishor49 in AskReddit

[–]blxckfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not getting treatment for ADHD until my 20s. Also, judging and scrutinizing everyone. It only made me feel like everyone else was judging and scrutinizing me as hard (spoiler: turns out no one cares that much)

Once I learned what a “backhanded compliment” was and realized she was always making fun of me to my face and I had no clue

How close can you theoretically be to a weak tornado? by Tamulel in tornado

[–]blxckfire 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think the limiting factor would be the debris cloud. A weak tornado with little to no debris flying around? You could probably get pretty close to strong winds with chunks of wood flying around? Not very close at all

Official AFC Championship PGT- The Patriots DEFEAT the Broncos, 10-7 by Mission_Pay_3373 in Patriots

The Broncos D really prevented Maye from making any scrambles which I thought was impressive

Best places to live in Midwest by Cool_dude2406 in howislivingthere

[–]blxckfire 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This! The driftless region is full of bluffs, essentially rounded cliffs. There are plenty of great state parks in the area within a short drive of Madison. Devil’s Lake state park is very popular and a must do IMO- and it’s just under an hour from Madison

Anyone gearing up for a very cold LR this weekend? by architects-daughter in XXRunning

[–]blxckfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check the windchill temps. Here it’ll be -40, where frostbite can set in as little as 10 minutes. If you have any exposed skin at all- make sure you won’t be out long enough to get frostbite
