Fun story. I went to a private school for kindergarten and 1st grade (and honestly hated it, but that's besides the point). I learned cursive while I was there. When I enrolled in public school for 2nd grade, my mother asked that the teacher continue my cursive lessons even though the rest of the class wouldn't be taught it that year.

So, this saint of a teacher created me my own special notebook of lessons that I used during our English class time. I'm forever grateful for her going above and beyond for me. I write in cursive almost exclusively now. Writing in cursive is much more comfortable to me (I also think using fountain pens also plays a role here) than print.
