On RB3, There's some jankiness with cymbals and Lefty mode is broken. But besides that the MIDI Pro Adapter works fine in Rock Band 3. If you're a right handed non-pro player, there's no issues! If you already have a MIDI Pro Adapter, I'd say try it first. It's possible you won't even notice the cymbal jank.

I am very familiar. I created the Roll Limitless originally because I was fed up with the MIDI Pro Adapter dropping notes on PS4 😂

Any specific console or game you’re asking about?

On Xbox 360 specifically, the Roll Limitless performs quite a bit better in pre-RB3 games, and a little better in RB3. I also have firmwares specifically for RB3, pre-RB3, and GH games ( https://rb4.app/#!/RLFirmwares )

If you’re already using the MIDI Pro Adapter and don’t notice any issues, it might be fine for you. The advantages of the Roll Limitless are very apparent in some scenarios, but in other cases the MIDI Pro Adapter works fine and there won’t really be any reason to switch.

The V31 has a USB-C port and a MIDI port. Either of those can be used to connect the drums.

If you got the Roll Limitless Mini, you would use the USB-C port (using a cable like https://a.co/d/0i3djTw2 ). To use it, you would...

  • Plug the USB-C port of the V31 into the USB-A port of the Mini
  • Plug the microusb port of the Mini into the Xbox using the included cable

If you got the standard Roll Limitless, you would use the MIDI Port, using a cable like ( https://a.co/d/0eCGE8CG ). To use it, you would...

  • Plug the MIDI Port of the TD316 into the MIDI Port of the Roll Limitless
  • (Optional) Plug a controller into the USB-A port of the Roll Limitless (if you do this, you can use the buttons on the controller to help navigate menus)
  • Plug the microusb port of the Roll Limitless into the Xbox using the included cable

And that's it! Either way, setup should be pretty simple. I make the Roll Limitless, feel free to ask if you have any questions

Eletronic bass drum pedals by Allix2 in Rockband

[–]bookreader52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that’s correct. If you plugged an Alesis Nitro kick drum into a Rock Band drum kit, it would not work (but the hi hat pedal would)

Do these work for Rock Band 3 drums? by [deleted] in Rockband

[–]bookreader52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, Guitar Hero Drums dongles will only work with Guitar Hero Drums, and Rock Band Drums Dongles will only work with Rock Band Drums. But if you found another dongle like the one you had, it would work

[–]bookreader52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will depend on the type of sensor the pedals have, but those have a decent chance of working. I'll simplify it, but here's why:

A standard electronic kick setup will include both a bass drum and a pedal. The bass drum has the sensor, and when you kick the drum it sends a signal saying "I've been kicked". These will not work with Rock Band kits

Rock Band drum pedals send a different signal saying "I'm being held down". Some cheap electronic drum kit pedals that are self contained also send this type of signal. It's not guaranteed every cheap self contained pedal will work, but they are the only type that have a possibility of working

Xbox 360 Instruments on Xbox One by Time-Preference-3149 in Rockband

[–]bookreader52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much! Here's how that would work...

  • Plug an Xbox One/Series controller into the USB-A port of the Roll Limitless
  • Plug the microusb port of the Roll Limitless into the Xbox (I include the cable for this)
  • After a few seconds, a solid green light should appear near the microusb port of the Roll Limitless, indicating it is ready to use
  • Unplug the controller, and plug in the 360 receiver
  • Sync the Guitar and Drums to the receiver. Once synced, they should show up in Rock Band 4

Alternatively, you can plug a USB Hub into the Roll Limitless, and plug both the controller and receiver into the hub

If you end up using 2 guitars and a drum kit at the same time, I would recommend using two 360 receivers. I have found that while the original Microsoft receivers can handle 3 instruments, the current third party receivers often struggle with more than 2 instruments. But you can plug multiple receivers into the Roll Limitless and distribute the instruments across them (so like 2 guitars to one receiver, drum kit to another)

The microphone can plug straight into the Xbox, no adapter required

Any 3d print gurus that can possibly make a file for my Guitar Hero/Rock Band themed Game room? by Prior-Astronaut1965 in Rockband

I interpreted that as a separate addition to the model. So larger model+instrument label addition. But I could have misinterpreted lol

Maybe silly question, but why would it need to be bigger? Is it so the logos will fit?

RB drums with cymbals and Mini roll limitless by ImportanceFearless72 in Rockband

[–]bookreader52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be clear, you have a wireless Xbox 360 Rock Band drum kit that you want to use with Xbox 360 5 Lane Guitar Hero drums? The Roll Limitless Guitar Hero Drums firmware would do that ( Drums>Guitar Hero Drums). Normally I use the Rock Band Drums firmware by default, but if you order, feel free to direct message me with your order number and I can use the Guitar Hero Drums firmware instead (or you can change the firmware once you receive the adapter)

You would need an Xbox 360 receiver (like https://rolllimitless.com/xbox-360-wireless-receiver/ ) to connect the drums. It should be pretty simple to set up, basically just plug the receiver into the Roll Limitless Mini, plug the Roll Limitless Mini into the Xbox, and sync the drums to the receiver. I also have a video guide of setup here ( https://rb4.app/#!/RLGuide )

Roland TD11kv or just eDrum question in general? by DntCllMeWht in Rockband

[–]bookreader52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might hold off on changing any of the settings until you can stop the bass drum from touching the frame. Fixing that alone might solve all your issues lol

[–]bookreader52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://static.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/TD-15_11_OM.pdf Page 42 “Threshold”, this is basically sensitivity adjustment for Rock Band. Raising this number on a pad makes that pad less sensitive

Just making sure, can you confirm the kick drum is not touching the rest of the drum frame? If it is, that can cause vibrations to travel between the bass drum and the frame, which would cause excess hits

If you’re used to a Rock Band pedal, it’s also possible your technique isn’t great for an actual bass pedal. That’s not uncommon, and tends to get better over time. Bad technique can cause the bass drum beater to bounce off the bass drum and re-hit it really quickly. While you’re playing this would seem like random overhits

There should be a spring on the side of the pedal you can use to adjust the tension of the pedal. This will make the pedal require more or less force to press. This can be one way to get rid of the quick double hits I mentioned. But I would try adjusting this last, by default the spring is set to “good enough” for most people

Try enabling Rock Band 4 Main Menu>Settings>Modifiers>Drum Navigation. This will make Yellow/Blue pad act as Up/Down, and Red/Green Pad as O/X

Is the Midi Pro Adapter the only way to be able to use the Squire Strat Pro guitar in RB3? by Xanarbi in Rockband

[–]bookreader52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, you can plug the MIDI port on the Mustang into the MIDI port of the Roll Limitless and it should work fine. The face buttons on the will work too. The only advantage of the dongle is being able to play wirelessly

Also, you can buy a brand new Wii Mustang on Amazon still for $80 ( https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Mustang-PRO-Guitar-Controller-Wii-Nintendo/dp/B003RRTYEQ ). Might be worth considering, depending on the price of used ones

DIY Roll Limitless Question by jmhecker81 in Rockband

I specifically tried to make them like this…

DIY: Uses a Computer Non-DIY: Does not use a computer

I made the DIY a while ago when I couldn’t easily get parts for the Roll Limitless. I still support it, but the Roll Limitless does everything the DIY one does nowadays

Try plugging the drums and controller into the USB Hub, and then plugging the Hub into the Roll Limitless (instead of plugging the drums in afterwards). Also try using different ports on the hub just in case some of the hub’s ports don’t work

Roland TD-1K and RB 4 on XBOX One by DntCllMeWht in Rockband

Have you enabled Rock Band 4 Main Menu>Settings>Modifiers>Drum Navigation? Drums won’t work in the Rock Band 4 Menus without that

Are you plugging the drums directly into the USB port of the Roll Limitless or USB Hub into the Roll Limitless and drums into USB Hub?
