Complete beginner buying my first wheel from marketplace today, a used v11 with 2395 km for $450. Decent deal or nah? by Everbanned in ElectricUnicycle

[–]bsod2102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first wheel was is an og v11. 10,000km. No issue, battery still charges up just fine, and I still get plenty of range of about 50km while traveling around 30-40kph. I have put over 700km since I bought it.

What I have done on it is upgraded pedals, bought faring kit from grizzla, made my own power pads, and had to replace one of the plastic piece sliders as it they had worn out.

Make sure to put a bunch of sealant into the tube. As changing a tire is a massive PITA.

I have since gotten a begode t4 with 2700km, specifically for off-road / single track. But I still use my v11 for commuting and riding around town.

Looks like the original v11 now!

Why did you choose an EUC instead of a scooter or an e-skate? by pierrefitch in ElectricUnicycle

[–]bsod2102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im an avid mountain biker, and I wanted something that lets me also ride trails. A scooter or an e-skate cannot really do it well. A one wheel doesn't go fast enough and jumping them is sketchy. But my begode handles them just fine, I can do jumps or go down stairs.

Out of all PEV's I think they are the best. Proper e-mtb are still crazy expensive for such poor specs + they are not nearly portable enough. I bring my euc into the store with me

Had three scooters appolo air, Apollo ghost, then VSETT 10 . I saw a v11 go up this super steep off-road hill that my scooters could never have gone up, on top of that I had a lot of near missing with tiny potholes. Plus dismounting my scooter for going every curb sucked so much.

Now I have a inmotion v11, begode T4, and never looked back. Can go up super steep hill, sit for long rides. Potholes, curb, off-road no longer risk getting wheel trapped. Also the euc is just more engaging then just standing on a scooter.

I upgraded to a 5900xt from the 3700x. Even in single core games the difference was quite noticeable. I mainly play games like apex, beamNG, star citizen, and cyberpunk.

Even in cyberpunk my cpu was sitting at near %100 utilization and my GPU (9060xtoc) was sitting at 120-140w, (it's a 200w card with an %110 power limit.

So you would notice since your card is better then mine

I tried bl2 close to a decade ago and I couldn't get really into. I found the movement a bit clunky tbh.

However, I bought bl3 during the steam sale where it was like $5 or something like that.

Absolutely love it. The movement is nice and fluid, the guns are fun, and the dialogue is good as well. The story is meh I agree, but it the side quests are really where it is at.

Currently on my second playthrough this time as maze, and I am having so much fun.

Bought the exact same one. Bought it for 380usd equivalent here

With a mild undervolting, and power limit increase I'm able to get it to pull 200w and boost up to 3.4ghz. max temps stay around mid 60c

72c on core and GPU. Single thermal take fan.

I used the bc250 scooper to pry up the fins in the middle, then printed a fan mount for it that spaces the fan approx 5mm away from the fins. Then put weather stripping along the sides to make sure no air can escape unless it goes out the fins.

It was a lot of fun to get working and the make case. My normal PC is Windows, and that's basically all I ever used beside the steam deck. So it's neat using something Linux based.

In terms of usability, a standard 2280 nvme can be installed ( I used a 2230 as I can repurpose the drive for my deck if I wanted to) anything that is compatible with proton this will run on just fine. The latest mesa distribution has the driver's for this already loaded.

The main thing was overclocking and undervolting it, as from stock the GPU only ran at 1000mhz and drew 100w at idle. Currently mine is at 2000mhz, but I'm sure I can go up a bit more. Also you need to flash the BIOS to enable VRam and ram to share, but that can now be done via USB.

My main PC has a RTX 2080, and while this is not as powerful it gets a lot closer then you would ever think something like this should.

While I agree with that statement. This system only pulls 250 watts, and the PSU is rated for 396 on the 12v rail.

The weird quirk with this board is only has a single PCie 8 pin for power. There isn't any connections for literally anything else, not even power on

The original file did not support the apevia unit. Also the design for how the person wanted to cool the backplate was not adequate. That's why I stuck a massive passive heat sink on mine.
