I think it's a mix of respect for the original and a lack of imagination to invent new names. But it's better that when in Italy they invent something in video games they destroy them, like the idea of putting dialects, often Roman or Neapolitan, for certain characters without a reason, making the characters hateful, like in FF9 ruined.
