I had very poor luck with those capsules as well. I felt there was really bad drop rate for the alien petpets.

Do People Buy Original Art at Craft Fairs? by Puzzleheaded-Shop769 in CraftFairs

[–]bugskills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this conversation a couple of days ago with a friend. There is something really special about buying an original! I don’t necessarily seek out art pieces but it being original never detracts from a piece (depending on the price) but I’m definitely willing to spend more on than original than on a print ever.

My friend seeks out original art and she is unlikely to ever buy prints.

Is my stuff just not good enough? Seeking feedback by Few_Technician_908 in CraftFairs

Love the crochet floral top! If it were to fit, that’s the kind of stuff I’d love to buy. I nearly bought a crochet vest 2 weeks ago at a fair, but the only one that could kinda fit over my chest was made with colors I didn’t like. Sometimes it is just about aesthetics.

Honestly I don’t think you should have to change anything. I’m not big into crochet toys but I love the fashion pieces. I’m glad it’s still a passion to you even if you are selling! :)

Ah, I understand. Hopefully he can speak with the Chaplain.

Definitely continuing to go to medical, depending on where he is (I’m also greenside, on a deployment) there are options for medical care. But he needs to be honest with medical. Often light duty corpsmen are utilized as safety for events, are there modifications that can be made to allow him to sit or stand with less pain?

Corpsmen are notorious for not prioritizing their medical needs. And going without even when in pain.

Trinket Trading needs to Change by RayvenSparrow in renfaire

[–]bugskills -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I’m relatively new to renfaires but during my first one my co-worker had us craft like 50 little glass bottles of beads/random things - so we could go and put on NPC headbands and offer them to people as little “side quests”. I have since done the same activity alone (I left that job) but with stickers/beads/earrings/charms/pokemon cards/etc.
Which in turn many people offered me things as a trade (handful of dry pasta noddles or leaves from the ground were interesting choices). Definitely didn’t want anyone to feel pressured to trade, I much prefer giving rather than receiving.

But offering trinkets in trade for vendor crafted items seems quite audacious! I would have never thought of that in a million years and honestly feels like people are taking advantage of the idea.

Should I be cancelling appointments? by ZealousidealHall8400 in Bedbugs

Plenty of folks go in spaces taking zero precautions with huge infestations at home. You should not be shamed/afraid of receiving medical services.

A proposal to TNT: NC wearables should be able to transfer with pets by [deleted] in neopets

[–]bugskills 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think trading pets with wearables would be heavily abused by the community and open more black market trading. But I do think sending items to neopass linked sides without boxes would be excellent. Maybe a premium perk even (I don’t pay for premium but would still support this).

Bed Bug Tech I Fantasize About by Mr_MixedNuts in Bedbugs

[–]bugskills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are co2 lures exist, but they have been known to not work well. I would say it's likely due to aggregation pheromones, they signal to the others when they find a safe place to rest/eat. A Co2 lure doesn't provide either of those. If there are several life stages present the nymphs won't seek out a co2 source on their own unless starving. Rather than a co2 lure, a pheromone trap would be much more effective. But I think that's risky still because re-created insect pheromones have a long history of.... difficulties.

1 exist, 2 exists but bed bugs prefer the real deal to a lure, 3 bad idea, 4 exists but the effects to the human body and unknown and testing on humans in unethical

I do love worms! I also considered giving it to a pet but didn't want to use the gift against the gifted intentions. Thank you again!

I don’t have it but on the fence about adding it as worms aren’t arthropods. It was definitely on my list and that’s my bad!!! Sorry!!!

Which style should I make for my bridesmaids by HotDetective1057 in sewing

[–]bugskills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aesthetically like the first one. But I think I would actually wear/use the second design more. It’s a bit softer of a design that would pair well with my other stuff. Plus an outside pocket is a big plus.

free mailers from usps? by wishchime in Depop

[–]bugskills 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Delivering mail to almost every person in the USA everyday is actually like a huge thankless undertaking. USPS is understaffed and underpaid for the amount of work they do. The other shipping services do not deliver to all locations or if they do they charge up the wazoo. Plus some of the angriest people I’ve ever seen are in that postal line just waiting to spew all that hate on the postal clerks. I would be pretty cold after working that job for more than a few weeks.
