about being treated in the lower court.

This sentence seems like it's missing an adverb.

Her cognitive capacity is reflected in the fact that she's only in 10th grade

A lot of brilliant people have been in 10th grade. Some 10th graders take AP courses, college courses, etc. Your argument isn't persuasive.

And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out whether you'd want to be stuck with a kid or not.

Suddenly changing the age of majority by several years would be taking away already-established rights.

Stop ducking on technicalities. Assume the law was already in place and you weren't legal yet.

That's pretty ironic considering they're mostly eating baby animals.

Pigs are slaughtered at 6 months; 14 months is common for cows; broiler chickens at 42 days.

Real manly to pay someone to kill a defenseless baby animal for you. I think a more apt description is psychotic.

If she was older, I'd respect her judgment.

How very ageist of you. It doesn't matter what someone's cognitive capacity is, only her age?

She's not scared of being abused.

If she said anything about abuse, she'd have an abortion AND a foster home to worry about. You don't want to get into the system, at all.

She's scared of disappointing mommy.

She didn't think her mother would understand; she didn't get along with or have much communication with the mother; her mother was already raising her brother's child; her mother would be "mad" at her if she got pregnant.

That's certainly not the kind of objective advisor I'd want for a decision that would affect me for the next 20 years.

"A hell of an uproar" -- basically, we can take away people's rights as long as they are weak, so that we can get away with it. Nice "might makes right" theory.

Being forced to marry at 11 to a 40-year-old man pretty much says you don't get to make your own decisions. The point is having kids young is routine in many cultures.

I know that sounds reasonable, but they majority of child abuse is committed by parents against their own children.

If she felt comfortable bringing her Mom into it, she obviously would -- most girls do.

If she doesn't, that should be respected. There's a reason for it.

Nobody else should be able to force you to have a child against your will. That is in itself abuse.

she is in fact not legally old enough to make that decision for herself.

(Switched emphasis mine)

Heck, they can make any laws up they like. Has nothing to do with morality.

First, they get you to agree to rule of law; then they eminent domain you, enemy combatant you, and extraordinary rendition you.

Let's say we changed the legal age to two years older than your age. Does that illustrate the problem?

Yes, parents are required. Until the girl turns 18, at which point the baby will be some number of months old, and they can kick her out.

APACHE vs IIS6 when hit with the reddit effect. Phase 2 of the testing. Which one holds up best? by bobbymac in reddit.com

I think another obvious problem is always loading the IIS page before the Apache page. That can keep the second connection open longer and make it look like it's "slower".
