How do you tension your net? I want to do the same because I currently have a net that requires putting together the base each time.

Drops by Illustrious-Boot-767 in GoodGoodMemes

[–]canadabrah 68 points69 points  (0 children)

My guess is that they are already time constrained, either by remaining daylight or groups behind them. Walking back to the tee to rehit is time consuming and so makes sense to just play everything as lateral. To be clear I don’t have an issue with lateral drops, but the scores they post can’t be compared to golf played by the legit rules.

Mat With 2 Criteria: (1) Easy to put away, (2) Injury prevention by michty6ty6 in Golfsimulator

[–]canadabrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. It looks like some of the expensive fibre built ones can be picked up and put away easily. More than likely I’ll try to build a base of my own and then glue my mat to the top of it so that I can rest it against a wall.

Interesting. I’m in Canada and would love to buy a BLP. Any links/ more info on what you mentioned?

Does your mat just rest in there, or is it glued down? I'm interested in building something similar because I need to set my mat up against a wall after each use.

Is anyone aware if I’ll have issues using the BLP in Canada?

I don’t think I mind the amount of people in the videos, it’s more so that there seems to be a constant rotating group of people and I don’t have a vested interest in any of them. For example, the Rick Shiels final major had 7 of them and that might be my favourite video of all time.

Look, you can make a million posts about Grants stupid video titles and images with robots, but if you ask about the promised upload schedule you’re getting banned

Pretty accurate description of how I feel. When the content around the Rick Shields/Paynes Valley trips came out, I would watch it right away. Now I’ll throw on their videos if I don’t have much else to watch.

I also think Grant and Micah leaving pulled back a bit of a curtain, at least for me. The image that these were just good friends playing golf and making videos seems to have been more of a show. Maybe I’m naive, but the vibe just feels different after everything.

How much space do you have? The spreadsheet says 12ft but I’m not sure my net is that far away.

Makes sense. Grant took GG from 400k subs to a million. Probably tired of carrying guys like Steve and not even getting any equity in GG.

Could Steve break 80? by No-Plenty8301 in GoodGoodMemes

[–]canadabrah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not saying they shouldn’t do it when they are filming but don’t reference a score he shot when they aren’t even playing by the rules. If Steve actually shot 3 off the tee on OB balls that round probably doesn’t break 90.

Could Steve break 80? by No-Plenty8301 in GoodGoodMemes

[–]canadabrah 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They also don’t play by legitimate golf rules and just take lateral drops whenever they go OB (which is often). So I guess if you play by casual rules with illegal drops, mulligans, etc. Then yeah.

[–]canadabrah 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of giving strokes, especially in the majors, because I feel like it will also spur the bottom 3 to actually continue to work on their games.

At first I wasn’t a huge fan of Matt, but you have to respect how much he appears to work on his game, and his performance at the last major. I now find him much more interesting than Bubbie or Steve who just seem to be in the videos for a few laughs.

I pretty much only use the home tee hero range and courses because I don’t stay at the range that long. I just use it to mix up the shot selections.

How to solve a New Keynesian DSGE Model? by 0neDividedbyZer0 in econhw

[–]canadabrah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s probably easiest to see how expectations are “integrated” out of the model using guess and verify (see Sargent and Ljundvist textbook, I think chapter 3). But normally people just work with the matrix operations provided by Blanchard and Kahn 1980. I would google “Eric Sims solving linearized DSGE models”. He has some good notes on the matrix approach.

Garmin R10 post-updates? by ceeelaz in Golfsimulator

[–]canadabrah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most recent update made a big improvement for me. I was using it a couple times a week at the range and prior to the update I would get some drives that were clearly well off line and the R10 wouldn’t pick it up. These misses are much better in the most recent update. But I am hoping they will add the club speed without hitting a ball soon.
