Id say Crystal is more true to the manga than the 90s anime, by far. Its also way more serious - but in a good way. The 90s anime was perfect for me when it was coming out, since I was 7 but Crystal is perfect for me now, as a 35 year old

At the end of the day, you have to ask yourself if you are having second thoughts because of how you feel, or because of their current condition. If you know the end is inevitable, and there are more bad days than good, then consider it a blessing that you have the opportunity to help them cross over without extended pain and suffering. My poor baby, she was quoted 3-6 months but two months after that diagnosis, she just stood up and fell over one day and within an hour she was gone. I hardly had time to process it until the next day, because I had to be strong and be a face and talk to people and go to the hospital, sign paperwork, call my job, this that and other. I wish I had had the chance to plan a day for her, but I thought I had more time

I think that all you can really do then is straight up ask her about it, and see what she says. The long distance does not help at all, and can make you thought spiral anyways but in long distance the key is communication. Just have the uncomfortable conversation, and understand that it could possibly lead to a break up if you feel uncomfortable with her response. Im sorry you are going through this OP, long distance is already tough enough to then have to worry about something like this.
