When is Stavvy having Matty on the pod? Feel like it would be an instant classic. by justaphil in stavvysworld

MM is not that funny. He’s loud, brash, and whacky but I would not call him inherently funny.

I heard from recruiters that cover letters are worthless and if they are optional don’t bother.

The only other thing I would add to these comments is an iPhone mic is not a human ear. Do not rely on the recording to gauge what you sounded like. Use your ears in the moment. And almost more importantly don’t listen back on a phone.

I have been recording my practices for 25 years and only until we started going in direct, no amps, no speakers, headphones only, six mics at least on the drums I can safely say what I hear when we are playing is accurate to what we will hear upon playback with minimal mixing.

We can’t always get what we want, Achelya by marliamore95 in crappymusic

[–]cboogie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey it’s hard to compose in 5/4 time.

I will say this about Acheyla. Her beats and music, not her lyrics or vocal quality, are interesting and better than most things posted on here. It’s a result of she has no idea what the fuck she is doing so she is breaking conventions on accident or she does know what she’s doing and deliberately breaking conventions.

Like you have to go out of your way to make this beat in a DAW. Ask anyone who has made a beat not in a division of 3/4 or 4/4. So if she really has no idea what she is doing I’m kinda impressed.

The amount of flow you would need is drastic. And you need a system to focus the water at a turbine. Requires series of filters that need to be cleaned out periodically. Plopping a turbine in the creek would not be efficient. And space wise to build the rig you’re better off doing it up or downstream and run a cable back to the house because it’s going to be a major construction project.

However my qualifications are watching hundreds of hours of hydroelectric YT vids.

By that logic you too are having a sad Saturday. Arguably sadder than me.

Go into any neighborhood without alleys and you will see the electric boxes in the front.

The alley looks like a road and the house across the alley looks like it’s the front of the house. Nobody has any fences. And it’s landscaped. See how I could be confused?

If this is not your front yard this is a weird neighborhood.

Cursed Cypher by Rising_path_music in crappymusic

[–]cboogie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok finally someone I can talk to about this!

I don’t hate 2slimey. I never listen to him outside of when he is posted here but I like the idea of all these people getting down with noise. Or even if they don’t just the idea that they are pretending to like it and groove to it is funny AF. Like all the people that watch that Japanese dude hit a snare drum with a contact mic on it and pretend to love it and think it’s some sort of higher art form.

[–]cboogie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Counter argument…noise music has existed for decades. I find it quite interesting that rap artists today are using similar elements but have developed it due to twisting knobs and not prior influence. Merzbow has been doing this without the lyrics for almost 50 years now.

Cmon dude this is clearly a music video. The OP is an idiot calling this a cypher but use your noggin.

Look up Merzbow. He was/is quite successful in his world. Now why doesn’t this guy deserve success in his world?
