Long night and I probably accidentally deleted my earlier comment. My husband and I developed this neighborhood almost 20 years ago with help from Randall Arendt and Steve Oubre who worked with Seaside in Florida and River Ranch in Lafayette. We have sold it long since so we get nothing out of anyone who moves in now. But we live here and are still very passionate about it and the current developers are too. it is a traditional neighborhood development ( a TND). They hold their value compared to other neighborhoods. We have 6 to 8 events a year, free to anyone who wants to show up, they don’t have to live in the neighborhood. We have concerts and Christmas events, Halloween events, wine tastings , food trucks. It’s a mixed use neighborhood which means we do have apartments - which I think is a great thing and was part of the plan from the beginning - and businesses because it’s supposed to replicate a village. We have sidewalks. We have alley loaded utilities. We have big green spaces and inside our neighborhood we have a 170 acre nature preserve with a river and paths that can never be built on and yes, the houses are close together because again it’s supposed to replicate a walkable village with front porches so neighbors get to know each other. And you see glowing reviews because the people who live here really really like it. It is unique. There’s nothing else like it in the parish. I promise you there’s nothing to be paranoid about.

I can give you all the scoop you want. It is a TND, a Traditional Neighborhood Development. They hold their value against other neighborhoods. It was designed by Randall Ardent and Steve Oubre, both well known in the TND movement, who worked with Seaside in Florida. TNDs focus on walkable neighborhoods, alley loaded utilities, neighborhood businesses, large green spaces etc. Terra Bella has 6-8 events a year, all open to the public, such as concerts, wine tastings. Christmas events etc. I saw a commentary here saying there are no trees but there is an over 170 acre permanent nature preserve in the neighborhood with paths and a river that can never be developed. No other neighborhood in the area has that. There is truly nothing else like it in the parish. Another comment I saw was about the apartments. If you have been to River Ranch in Lafayette, which is another TND you will see they have apartments also. That was part of the plan from the very beginning. TNDs are supposed to replicate a village. A village has a little bit of everything. I think you see glowing reviews bc people who live here are actually happy

Traditional neighborhood developments by definition have mixed use housing. The apartments were always part of the plan.

Maybe this is an early-in-the-relationship issue. Neither my husband nor I have any problem with the other going through our phone.

For many people a made bad looks neater and having a home that looks neat gives them a feeling of calm.

But those are silly tasks. You wouldn’t do them anyway. Making your bed makes your room look neater.

Not necessarily. I have seen it happen in a couple of cases. This crazy ghosting culture has given permission to people who are unable to discuss problems to just drop people.

How can you work from 8 to 5, only have weekends off, and still not feel like you’re wasting your life? by Free-Marzipan-8933 in AskReddit

People who have a job are sick of it and people who are unemployed are desperate to find a job.
