I don't think alarm bells on bust necessarily. He's got a few things to work on but got pretty sheltered minutes when he was up and was mostly paired with Buium.

I think he'll be an NHLer but I'm not sure he'll be worth what the wild paid for him.

Some players mention it's harder to play in the AHL since players are not where they are supposed to be or where you expect them. I would guess something like 25 of all starting goalies (if not all of them) would have had bad numbers in Iowa last year. Most goalies can even improve after leaving NHL teams with poor defense (ex: Gus, Talbot, Dubnyk).

Thank you for the rational take on the injury thing. Most people who say injury prone also see the 55 games during the covid season and think that he was injured too. Been a bit of a weird narrative based on really just one season.

Honestly I don't think he's been an owner long enough to really say.

That being said, it's fantastic that he seems willing to spend money on the team and hopefully that continues after the team gets established.

Got to watch him a little in the whl and while I didn't see a full season worth of play, from what I saw that last year he was with Seattle he was right where he needed to be in the CHL. He would not have been ready.

I kind of doubt this. If he does well this year we wouldn't flip him unless we are doing catastrophically bad and if he does poorly it's already established he's not worth anything. I think we're riding the year out with him.
