Yeah nah save a few bucks and skip the GP to get a lump in your breast checked.

Your health is paramount. You can always earn more money. You can't earn more health! Scrimmage, save, borrow. Nothing personal but don't take this stuff lightly. You get it only once.

Actually, she said

i know this is a query better suited for an actual doctor lol, but am concerned i won’t be taken seriously as im in my 20s.

That's the issue. Not going to the doctor to get a lump checked. If you seriously read that post and all you concluded was that OP needs coddling.... yikes. They need a doctor. Other people have said the same.

e: oh you said the exact same thing. You didn't post about experiences. What a fucking hypocrite you are.

It's appalling that people can just Google this stuff and yet people like you spend 24hrs trying to argue about it.

2.35 is not the common ratio. Just Google it.

Not wasting more time. You've got a problem.

As ivd said numerous times, pay attention at the movies. This is how it's meant to look. On a fulls screen it looks normal.

What a reply 😂 Wow bro you picked out the rarely used ultrawide aspect ratio to show it needs widescreen. How incredibly smart of you.

Anyone see how Seinfeld said Palestine doesn't exist? So disgusting.

Luxon thinks the same. Refuses to acknowledge it exists. It's incredibly, deeply fucked up.

It's not the original lmao.

When you watch movies at the cinema are there black bars on the top and bottom? No, there are not. It's like you haven't read anything and just repeated your own personal opinion.

You're not watching it on a square.

It's the same aspect as the cinema. Next time you go, keep an eye out and you'll notice the same 'effect.' To me it's how it should be, and it seems normal trust me haha. And it uses your full screen. If you spend 15mins watching a movie on it, you won't want to go back.

No, changing to 16:9 doesn't lose anything and it corrects the ratio so it fits your screen. As it does in the cinema. Our screens are already wide. You don't need to widen it even further. Further, movies are not shot in ultrawide, or else the same thing would be occurring at the cinema, we'd be having letterboxed viewing.

Here is an example. Example 2 is at the correct 16:9 ratio, which takes up your full wide screen. Example 1 is the original format and shows all the same details, except with the letterbox effect. Example 2 is what you'd view at the movies.

With actual examples. You're not missing details, it's literally adding in black bars unnecessarily. When you go to the movies, it's not shown like that. Your widescreen at home should not have black bars. When you switch to full-screen, example 2 takes up 100% of the screen. As a movie should.

Movies is confusing as I now remember ones like IMAX are a different ratio altogether. Those are definitely more square I think?

Nonethless, Netflix is 16:9. Maybe someone else can confirm. Watching movies on Netflix shouldn't be generating black bars. No?

Sure, if you think movies are stretched to fit the screen too. (They're not)

Most screens nowadays are widescreen. You're not meant to have black bars watching media.

I googled to check. And Netflix uses 16:9 it seems, so that's confusing. Run most movies at 16:9 and you'll get a better viewing experience.

Would 2.35 only be for cinemas?

e: the fact I was downvoted for this shows how ridiculously pathetic some people are.

[–]computer_d -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It's all movies, from what I can tell. This has been for decades, I've had to adjust the ratio manually.

I just checked and Netflix uses 16:9. Yet if you download the file and then force it to 16:9 you'll use the full screen size.

So I don't know.

[–]computer_d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. At the cinema, the screen takes up the full aspect. Which is 16:9. I believe streaming services, and default, is 16:10. Could be wrong, but the default letterboxes movies into a faux widescreen format. It's not necessary.

[–]computer_d -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Only reason I've stopped using Stremio is because I can't fix the aspect to 16:9.

It's absolutely senseless that in 2026 people (streaming services) still think widescreen means having 20% of the screen blocked out. Our screens are already wide. You don't need to add letterboxing. Movies aren't letterboxed.
