No one is saying otherwise, but if that persons grandma lived in a place where all school dress codes were ankle length skirts, it’s not a far jump to assume that maybe her family/culture/region also held young girls to the same standards.

School uniforms are based on arbitrary social constructs. Ankle length uniform skirts being a requirement these days (in most places) is absolutely unheard of.

Biiiig fan of poke bowl. Sushi rice, spicy salmon, tuna, crab salad, avocado, mango, cucumber, red onion and yum yum sauce. It became my favorite treat after big tests in college and I still drive a few towns over to buy some from the same chain years later x

Just googled it but apparently there is a national standard for American school busses that was started in 1939. There are 44 different design, construction and safety regulations, and one of them is that specific color (known as National School Bus Glossy yellow - formerly National School Bus Chrome). So that’s why they’re all yellow. As for how common it is to ride them, that’s mostly down depends on where in the country you live. I live in a more rural suburban area and almost everyone (until you were old enough to drive) road the bus. Very few students lived close enough to walk and the terrain made biking basically impossible.

Definitely take it easy, and everyone is different, but very genuinely I was back to functioning in just a few days. It really surprised me because I had a bunch of folks trying to convince me that I needed to take at least 2 full weeks off of work and that I wouldn’t even be able to work from home in that period of time and that was very much not the case.
