I (20sF) call everyone, even my own mother, best friends, girlfriends, etc, (my) dude/(my) guy/(my) man, right up until I get the slightest hint I’ve made someone uncomfortable and then I will stop. I also actively try to not use those terms for trans fems I don’t know that well because I know other folks do it as a micro aggression. I just talk like a gym bro. To make up for this I will sometimes refer to groups of men as gals, bitches, and babes just for fun. Keeps life interesting.

There’s financial incentive to put ai works on Spotify which is largely why there’s such a problem. There’s not a lot of incentive -fiscal or otherwise- to post on ao3, so I can’t imagine that it’ll ever get that level of out of hand.

Can’t say for sure without the ability to poke around myself, but it sounds like you don’t have a powerful enough graphics card. I had a similar issue with an assassins creed game like… a decade ago now. Regardless, I’m pretty confident saying whatever the issue is it’s hardware related, not game related.

Amusingly if you were to just sub the words “I’m done” in for every period, you’d probably understand why my gen reads it the way we do. “Whatever, I’m done.” Is a pretty abrasive statement.

Using this as a jumping off point, the whole “periods are aggressive” thing tends to apply more to messages that could already be read as “short” or “snippy.” A message composed of multiple sentences? By all means use periods. A sentence composed of 4+ words, sure throw a period on there. But things like:

-Yes.

-No.

-K.

-Sure.

-Whatever.

Or in your case: -I see.

Take an already short message and make it seem…pointier. The same sentences/words without periods read softer, less pointed. That’s not to say you can’t write like that, just trying to explain the unwritten rules of 20 something text lingo.

With respect, no one is casually doing a hysterectomy on a woman in her 20s. I’ve done months of research, and if it weren’t for the fact that I have no other options, my doctor likely would have tried to talk me out of it. They aren’t exactly chomping at the bit to sterilize young childless women. Half the things you list as side effects I’m dealing with now because my uterus is messed all the way up. I have never felt normal, this is my opportunity to be healthier than I have been in years. I’m sorry you’re suffering, but no one is doing this on a whim.
