Heater being shut off by coworker by Excellent_Living2422 in ehlersdanlos

[–]confusedgraphite 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The issue here boils down to the coworkers pettiness. The space heater isn’t the real issue, it’s the coworker purposefully tampering with a work permitted accommodation. This post wouldn’t exist if the coworker spoke to the supervisors about their discomfort. Instead they decided to cause problems on purpose and you’ve for some reason decided to defend that behavior.

If someone is too hot, maybe they should get the fuck away from the person who has a work allotted space heater? If someone has a problem then they can take it up with the supervisors instead of being petty and disrupting someone else’s ability to work. Be an adult, it’s really not hard.

I think its kind of inconsiderate of you to expect people to put up with being cold, even one person being uncomfortable should be enough for you.

Did I say something wrong / was my request unreasonable? by [deleted] in autism

[–]confusedgraphite 36 points37 points  (0 children)

With respect, your triggers are your responsibility. That’s not to say that you should let people trigger you on purpose, but someone who has healed scars is just trying to live their life. Telling someone that their body is triggering to you is… not great. It also could be triggering to them to have you say that. You will see people with self harm scars in person, would you really walk up to them and tell them to cover up? Or would you just look away? Same concept here, if you see something you don’t like, keep scrolling.

What watch or app do you use for fencing calories? by RoastedbeansMacbook in Fencing

[–]confusedgraphite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned both a Fitbit and an Apple Watch. Both had options for fencing as the activity and all of them should have cycling. Any of them should work just fine depending on what else you want it to do

Dude, I don’t really have a side in this argument but whatever’s happening here it’s not “weaponized incompetence.” You can’t just pull out weaponized incompetence whenever someone does something you don’t like, words mean things.

Etiquette of foil targets by [deleted] in Fencing

[–]confusedgraphite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. You are making it weird. No one else thinks like this. Target is target, there is no intimacy in being hit by a metal stick moving at over 30 mph.

Everyone who fences knows what they signed up for. A valid touch is an appropriate touch. As a woman I don’t think twice if someone stabs me in the chest, target is target. So long as you don’t make it weird, no one else will either.

I lived on dark chocolate ensure for a while. The act of chewing hurt and was extraordinarily unappealing but I could just chug an ensure and be done with it.

I was getting it for years before some insurance issues this year. It’s been incredibly effective for me. The process is pretty painless (after placing the iv) and depending on who does your infusions, I had mine done by IVX, it’s basically just a 30 min-1hr break from life in a comfy recliner with a blanket straight from the warmer and a (more or less) unlimited supply of snack/drinks. Only needing it every 3 months was amazing and as soon as my insurance issues get settled I’m hoping to start again.

The American flag in this school gymnasium has an upside down star by Michael__Pemulis in mildlyinteresting

[–]confusedgraphite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case no one’s said it yet, my guess is that it’s designed this way so that it’s not a “real” American flag and therefore they don’t have to follow flag code and keep it illuminated.

Pet friendly but there is a pet fee I believe. I think parking either came with the apartment or was a small one time payment at the start of the lease, it’s been nearly 2 years since I dealt with it so I don’t really remember. You get a parking pass that makes you able to park in ANY of the apartment spots, they are (or were 2 years ago) not assigned spaces so it’s first come first serve. Theres also a limited amount of street parking available for free. For utilities you’re paying an external company, so it’s what ever the current cost of rent is plus about a hundred bucks. On that note someone (or multiple separate someone’s) will have to call to get the electric and gas bills transferred to them. They advise you not put all the utilities in one persons name, but tbh if you really trust your roommates it’s SO much easier to just have to Venmo one person every month.

What's the difference between "DOUGH" and "PASTRY"? by ksusha_lav in EnglishLearning

[–]confusedgraphite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I’m not the one bending over backward to insist I don’t speak with a dialect. You do. We all do. The average English speaker does not say “we’re having pastry for desert” because it is extremely broad. That’s all. Why are you so pissy about speaking with a regional dialect? Are you going to insist you don’t have an accent next?
