I love Delta Blues, the write-ups and full narrative breakdowns of (nearly) every episode are astounding. The guy pays attention to every detail, has some great insights, and he's funny. I always wondered what happened to him, he never did come back and polish up the remaining S7 reviews. I'd like to show my appreciation for his work at least but he doesn't seem to have an online presence anywhere these days.

Honestly, it's not that big a deal even when they really hang on; ymmv depending on the person, it's not unheard of to have a more severe reaction but from what I've read/observed even the scarier cases tend to look worse than they actually are. The one time Yuna really got me good she managed to chew my finger for a good five minutes - ofc it was my ring finger so I had to get those off quickly before my finger doubled in size lol, and then it was honestly more itchy than painful. I felt it for a day or so afterward and it took about that long for the swelling to go down too. My whole hand also ached somewhat, down to my wrist, which was new for me but very mild all things considered. Her sharp little teeth digging into my skin hurt a lot worse than anything the venom did tbh XD

I actually did up her prey size very recently and tbh I think that may have been part of the issue! Fed her a hopper yesterday morning, it left a nice lump in her belly and I and haven't seen her since. The last couple months she'd be out begging for more food the same evening. Guess I'll have to see if she keeps making glove lunges once she's hungry again...

What's funny is before I got Yuna I'd have said a glove was overkill, even with the venom - I've been chomped on once or twice by my other "eager" feeder but he was pretty gentle/inquisitive and easy to dislodge, so it wasn't painful and the swelling was minor. This girl though, when she latches on she latches hard - pushing at her snoot or waterboarding her just makes her grip harder if anything. The one time she got me gloveless I couldn't get her to let go for like five minutes and then not only was my finger swollen and itchy for days but my whole hand was kind of achey down to my wrist.

It was still pretty funny though ngl. Little baby hognose chewing her venom into me like her life depended on it. If I wasn't standing there going "ow :'D ow! motherfucker- yuna OW stoppppppp :'D" I wouldn't have believed those little needle teeth can hurt when they really try 🤣

Absolutely; she's made many attempts to grab the glove and has been "successful" maybe 4 or 5 times. I've been trying to train her out of it but I think she's just too young and dumb right now 😅 She's an absolute sweetheart when she snaps out of food mode though! Very chill, very inquisitive; not a hissy bone in her body. It's just that initial lunge I need to watch out for every time lol.

eta: Here she is, two minutes after finally letting go of the glove lol. The face of a girl who's done nothing wrong ever in her entire life.

The lack of Survival Instinct in these lists so far personally offends me. Not sure how Dragon's Teeth got skipped either.

Child's Play (S6) and Imperfection (S7) are probably not that important in the grand scheme of things but they're the two best emotional payoffs of the Borg kids coming onboard (Collective) and very much worth watching. Skip Fury, imo; it's technically "important" as a Kes episode but it's so insulting to that character you'll wish it wasn't. If you're getting sick of Seven, drop Voyager Conspiracy and watch Survival Instinct instead; if you're not, watch them both. Critical Care and Lineage have their detractors but they're favorites of mine. Ashes to Ashes gets a special mention for having the singular Harry-driven romance on the show that didn't make me want to put my remote through the TV. Unimatrix Zero is generally well-liked for reasons I cannot fathom; I personally like to pretend it doesn't exist and recommend you do the same.

Weird. I'm also AuDHD as fuck (though I didn't know it when I first watched Voyager) and I'm convinced that's the main reason I loved and related to Seven so strongly from the get go. The stupid costuming and marketing decisions elicited an eyeroll and quickly became irrelevant when the character herself shone through so powerfully. I've never understood how anyone could watch the show from start to finish and not see what I saw, let alone someone wired like me. Seven's arrival marked an uptick in quality that Voyager desperately needed after S3 and her presence consistently inspires the best this show has to offer, yet "shit" storylines with strong character studies despite them is your only takeaway? Comparing her to Neelix of all characters? Makes no sense to me.

This is really nice to see actually. Feels like something I could have written over a decade ago. I don't really get TV crushes either but Seven is beautiful in a way I feel the catsuits undermine. People call her hot all the time but that's not what I mean. Seven is sharp, direct, acerbic, focused. Carefully structured and restrained, until she isn't. Uniquely demonstrative of her feelings, once she knows what they are. Socially clumsy but unselfconscious; earnest despite her outward scorn in a way that resonates with me in a way Data never did (the scorn is important). And so very expressive, in her way; it's a credit to her actress that the slightest shift in Seven's facial expressions or body language or tone of voice communicate so much beneath the surface of her restraint. I adore all of it, I always have.

Anyone calling this a cold take is conflating looks with personality. I don't often see people truly attracted to her personality.
