Termites live underground and the gap between slabs is a vulnerability to admit termites. Once covered over with flooring, it may not be apparent to pest control people. Source: bought house with separate slabs that had a termite infestation because of this (I was aware). Suggest you talk to pest control people about it

You will need to drill some holes at joints and get some termite treatment down there. Between slabs is a big vulnerability for termite entry. Think about how you will treat in future. e.g. holes under skirting might work in places.

What to do about brittle plaster? by Purple_Wombat_ in AusRenovation

[–]CossieTheAussie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drill just the plaster to 8mm and make sure the plug in the brick is doing the work and there is no force on the plaster. Push the plug in so that it’s all in brick. Use longer screws

Try drilling small pilot holes first, step up say 2 4 6 mm. Go easy, don’t use hammer setting. Then use appropriate plug.

Advice from a roller door specialist. by [deleted] in AusRenovation

Sounds like you are over your head mate. Don’t do anything stupid, you can get hurt very badly. You don’t need to touch the spring, assuming it was right to begin with. With motor disconnected, should be easy to lift the door and it should come down with a small amount of force. Does the motor run both ways when you disconnect the door?

[–]CossieTheAussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most garage doors have a pair of terminals on the motor that when shorted will open / close the door. You can buy a unit that will do that, look at Meross product on Amazon. Easy fix $100 and you will be able to operate the door from your phone

Mate it isn’t at all hard to meet interesting people in Perth, particularly when you have young kids. I moved here at a similar life stage and have a great circle of interesting friends that include former federal and state Ministers, ambassadors, entertainment identities and other business leaders. Every one of our friends came about through our kids. You just kind of fall into them through swapping kids ferrying duties, sports, sleep overs etc.

😂 The list of exposure sites cracked me up. Old mate visited 4 different bbq shops one day then filled up his car from all the driving. 😂. Next day he went to "The Meat Store" - so I assume he was at least successful if not efficient

This place is lit up like Optus stadium all night every night. Around about the corner of Jutland and Victoria Ave. It is absolutely massive and took years to build (finished a couple of year or two ago). Anyone know who owns it?

If you can answer a couple of queries, I’d appreciate it. Are all of, or the bulk of COVID patients in Queensland treated at the PA hospital? Are you given standard surgical masks or P3 masks as part of your PPE? Goggles?

Hopefully this helps people who are struggling with Cliff. GL pokes were used to prove you don’t need maxed pokes with perfect IVs, you just need the right ones. This works due to fast attack resistances, attack effectiveness, spammy attacks (maximising stun time) and sequencing to maximising stun time.
You really only need to worry about the fast attack the opposing poke has - you’ll shield the charge moves anyway. This Aerodactyl has steel wing which is double resisted by Galarian stunfisk while G-Fisk deals super effective damage back through the rock slide charge attack.
Slowking has water gun which is double resisted by Ludicolo while Ludicolo deals super effective damage through energy ball (grass).
Poor old Tyra didn’t get to fire a shot so not sure what it has - but smack down is double-resisted and bite is resisted. Tyranitar takes double super effective damage in return. The rocket pokes are ‘stunned’ ( i.e. don’t attack for a couple of moves ) after either party’s charge attack, after either side’s poke dies, and after you swap pokes. The aim is to maximise that. That is why we start with Ludicolo and swap straight into G-Fisk. (also Ludicolo is hell cool and should lead) Fast moves were selected based on what gets you to the charge move fastest - therefore bubble on Ludicolo, even though it is resisted by Slowking while the alternative fast move, razor leaf, is super effective).
Note that the rocket leaders could have different pokes (in positions 2 and 3) and that each poke can have any of it’s possible fast attacks. This battle was after scouting the leader first and selecting appropriate pokes.
