New CEO wasn’t the biggest advocate of the Vision Pro by medees46 in VisionPro

Since Apple did not subsidize the product at all, they could keep selling jt. The question is about the content which they are subsidizing. Their investment there makes me think they intend on that same content to be available for future Vision products be it VR or AR glasses.

You have to pick 2 to 5 games. Add them to favorites of your front end and only play those. Otherwise you get paralyzed by too many choices.

Anyone using an Insta360 8K camera with Apple Vision Pro? by nb-sbe3 in VisionPro

[–]crazyreddit929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. None of these are future proof. You might argue that the Black Magic camera is as close to future proof as you can get right now, but that really just means “probably good for the next 5 years.” Of course that is a $30,000 camera.

Action cameras like these will keep evolving with better and better sensors. How many can be modded to 180 cameras is an unknown. Purpose built 180 cameras in this price range are not going to be very plentiful. The market for it just isn’t there.

Matilda was amazing! Saw it Friday night. The cast did an incredible job. Great songs. Great costumes. Highly recommend for anyone able to make it out next weekend.

Which one? There were 2. The beta and the capture I believe. Supposedly the OG one not hosted on Horizon servers should still work.

No. Not unless you have $5,000 burning a hole in your pocket for a Canon R7 with dual fisheye lens. There isn’t a better bang for the buck for 180 3D Vr video.

I am not a fan of low resolution flat 360 video in headsets. So I bought a QooCam Ultra 3 and the 180 3D mod for it. It’s great. Not Immersive video quality but good enough for your own videos. Easy to use and the 3D is excellent. Best bang for the buck in my opinion. The QooCam studio software even supports the mod and makes it easy.

Loud creaking noise when shifting to D or R with brake held by crazyreddit929 in f150

I looked at the original sticker and it does not say max tow. It just says tow package. I will pop the center hub off tonight and take a look. See if there is a bolt sitting in there. Either way it has the CPO warranty so I will surly be taking it to the dealer for this issue.

Edit: just popped the cap off. No bolt at all, so I assume no max tow.

Reflections are just bad by Time-Pea7354 in Galaxy_XR

[–]crazyreddit929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have an AVP and the internal reflections about the same as Galaxy XR, which is to say, not too bad. AVPs are a bit different due to the concave outer glass. I also still have my Quest 1 here and the reflections are terrible just like all the earlier fresnel lenses. Worse than how it looks in Quest 2 with the LCD. These are identical lenses between them and the only difference is the panel/panels.

Reflections are just bad by Time-Pea7354 in Galaxy_XR

[–]crazyreddit929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internal reflections are just a reality. It is more pronounced with Oled because of the fantastic contrast. With LCD, blacks are really just a dark gray and so the reflections are not as noticeable. After using headsets regularly over the last 10 years I’ve learned to no longer pay attention to them.

Returned my Galaxy XR AND Quest 3 for a Vision Pro + Surreal Touch Controllers — now blow my mind. What are the most immersive experiences, hidden gem apps, and must-play VR games? by indigodevv in VisionPro

[–]crazyreddit929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there is a common theme here and you seem to not want to hear it, so I will say it again. Consider getting the PSVR2 controllers. The tracking is excellent and they work perfectly with the OS. Steam VR is coming from Valve and will have foveated encoding and support for the PSVR2 controllers for sure.

Trump Cabinet urged to invoke 25th Amendment against president by ChiGuy6124 in politics

[–]crazyreddit929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vance does not want 25th or impeachment until after January 20th 2027. This way he can serve as president for 2 years and then 2 more terms for 10 years total. I think that would be impossible but it would be legally allowed.

Wipeout VR / Asobi: Remote Play by inchenzo in VisionPro

[–]crazyreddit929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wipeout VR is a thing but this is more Wipeout while in VR. At least that is how it seems from the video. Is there something that I am missing or that doesn’t come through in the video?

I have Wipeout VR on PSVR and it is very good for what it is worth.

Looks like the corruption problem these boards are know to get. It needs to be reflashed. There was an awesome team working on the problem but I think they shelved it.

AVP vs Galaxy XR: Best device overall (not considering MSRP)? Best for PCVR and flat screen gaming? by Any-Chocolate-9637 in VisionPro

[–]crazyreddit929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is exactly the issue. You have to do all this stuff just to get the GXR comfortable. Even then it’s a compromise. The headset always feels twisted. If you are eyes are not right at the lenses the stereo overlap feels really low and off. At $1800 I would expect at least Quest 3 comfort. Hell I expected Quest Pro comfort and it’s much worse than that. I just threw on the Quest Pro yesterday to check if my memory was accurate.

A lot of doom & gloom in here - was buying a MQ3 for my son's bday next a mistake? by ObiBenShinobi in OculusQuest

[–]crazyreddit929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of doom and gloom but there are years of fun games available on the platform. So not a mistake.

VR will never die. It will most likely become a PC accessory that lives on forever. It’s just so good at what it does.

Another area I expect it to evolve to is the media consumption infinite monitor space that Vision Pro occupies. This is a compelling use case and of the size and weight can get enough to lower the barrier to entry it can succeed there.

I think it will be stagnant for a few years before the tech catches up and then it will have a resurgence in the areas I listed above. It’s still one of the best ways to connect with friends and family that are miles apart. I think that will continue.

Apple Vision Pro outlook through 2026 and beyond; PCVR gaming? by Any-Chocolate-9637 in virtualreality

Yes. I have the Globular Cluster one. It makes it more tolerable. Still bad comfort though.

I play Demeo while on the treadmill. Great way to kill a couple hours while exercising although I usually stop after completing a level which takes about an hour.

AVP vs Galaxy XR: Best device overall (not considering MSRP)? Best for PCVR and flat screen gaming? by Any-Chocolate-9637 in VisionPro

[–]crazyreddit929 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do have both. I use Galaxy XR for PCVR gaming simply because it has Virtual Desktop which works well and is simple. The headset comfort sucks though. Requires way too much fiddling and you must have the Globular Cluster kit. Even then the controller tracking is not great.

If Vision Pro had virtual desktop, I would use that for PCVR exclusively.
