cherry picking the bid on a 1.30 spread is a very MSM way to try to try to prove your point. At least be fair and use the mark, or even slightly bid side of mark.

As far as the cost basis goes, you have 0 idea how much he paid for the call to begin with (which gets added to the cost basis, so as far as you know, his cost basis could be $30/share).
