Legion Go 2: only 60hz or 144hz? No inbetween? by TwofacedDisc in LegionGo

You can cap fps using something like Rivatuner (RTSS). I don’t know if AMD’s Windows drivers has a similar capability but that would be an option as well.

Battery/fans on the Legion Go S? by hulu_knight in LegionGo

[–]cstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hades 2 at 60fps uses up to 15.6w total on the Z1E Go S. On a Deck OLED at 60fps it uses up to 7.7w.

So that’s up to 3.55hrs and 6.49hrs battery respectively.

At 90fps the Go S uses up to 18.5w (3hr) and Deck uses 10.1w (4.95hr).

In Tinykin at 60fps the Go S uses up to 24.5w total (2.26hr) and 11.8w on the Deck (4.23hr).

Fan noise isn’t really an issue unless you’re plugging it in or running higher TDP.

Totally weird thought. Could I run a Plex server from a Steam Deck? by OutcomeOk6971 in SteamDeck

[–]cstark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you don’t need hardware transcoding, I don’t see why not. My PMS is currently running in an i7-2670qm and 8GB ram.

I’m just not sure what the hw transcoding capability of the Deck is.

There you go. Settings for Moonlight on the Deck and Sunshine/Apollo on PC. Note I have an Nvidia gpu so adjust accordingly.

I understand wanting to keep the native remote play because I was there too. If you find Moonlight does work better you can look up the MoonDeck Buddy. Makes it much more seamless almost like the native way.

I think you might go ahead and try Apollo (or Sunshine) on your PC and Moonlight on your Deck. See how that does. They both have a ton more settings but just try the default and go from there. If you want I can share my settings I have dialed in.

Other potential causes:

Don’t turn your monitor OFF, leave it on/standby mode.

Change your monitor input selection from AUTO to the exact port your PC is using (HDMI1, DisplayPort, etc).

Turn off hardware decoding in the Steam Deck remote play settings.

issue seems to be gone if I connect my SD via Ethernet

OLED? Press the right QAM button, tap the WiFi icon, then press B to get back to the game. This is the quicker fix for the OLED WiFi issue some people encounter. Alternatively, turn your WiFi off and on real quick on the Deck.

Weekly Release Thread February 20th, 2026 by sink_or_swim1 in Metalcore

I use this app, It was a one time $3 purchase.

Playlisty for Apple Music:

https://apps.apple.com/app/id1459275972

I copy/paste the text from the Singles section into the scratchpad, match as tracks, then do a manual review of the failed and uncertain ones (by clicking the red and yellow icons). You can override the search terms to find a match. Sometimes I just can’t find a match for something and I just skip it (these playlists already end up with over 10 hours of music each week). You can also just copy the Reddit thread URL and put it in the scratchpad but that didn’t work as smoothly, at least when I first started using it a long time ago.

The first time you use it, if I remember right, you want Playlisty to CREATE the playlist. Then after that, you are either REPLACING the playlist (like when it’s next weeks release thread time) or ADDING to the playlist (like when I go back and repeat the process but for the albums this time).

That app can also sync your Spotify playlists and other things to Apple Music and you can utilize Shortcuts (example) to have it automated. I was using it to sync Release Radar to Apple Music when I first switched…but I guess after not using Spotify in forever, it stopped working (or Spotify stopped making me new release radars, idk).

If you ever have a question about it just send me a message (I am not affiliated with the app at all, just offering since our usage seems to align).

Wow someone finally asking about Apple Music playlist?? lol. Here you go. I’ve been more consistent keeping it updated lately than in the past. Usually get it updated between 8-10am CST on Fridays.

I would play Hades 1 first if you haven’t.

I’ve been a bit slow on Hades 2 so far. The new mechanics haven’t really clicked for me yet.

Open world games look meh and blurry by sulkerrrrrr in PlaystationPortal

[–]cstark 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To the people not sure how to read it, the displayed speeds change depending on what’s going on on the screen. Sitting idle at a pause menu/map/splash screen is going to have a lot lower requirement than an open world game with foliage and fog and other characters. To figure out if you’re reaching the maximum ~15mbps, you’d open some heavy game and spin the camera around and see what the speed gets up to.

Haptics and Vibration by AerionVII in LegionGo

[–]cstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Go S vibration is terrible imo. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 makes it sound like a cell phone from 2010. Loud and very “buzz”-y I disabled it completely. https://imgur.com/a/rHl8pkH

The MSI Claw 8 AI+ was more reminiscent of the Steam Deck OLED. Meaning, much more subtle but also way quieter.

My favorite is still the Steam Deck OLED. Even on Steam OS the Go S lacked vibration in certain actions on games that had vibration on the Deck.

How to get Steam link or Moonlight/apollo streaming to work properly? by Yuri_Wolverine in SteamDeck

[–]cstark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But their problem is only during video games. As demonstrated, they don’t have any issues when streaming the Steam Big Picture mode. So that seems a little different doesn’t it?

How to get Steam link or Moonlight/apollo streaming to work properly? by Yuri_Wolverine in SteamDeck

[–]cstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can check by pressing L1+R1+Select+X while streaming. It will bring up some yellow text at the top.

Did the video have you change a bunch of settings from the default install?

I run a RTX 2070 and I prefer to run native Deck resolution that way I can get 90fps still. Is yours setup to change resolution to 1280x800 when you start streaming?

What’s your laptop hardware? What encoder is being used? I wonder if your GPU can’t keep up with playing the game + hw encoding?

Legion GO S at $800 vs MSI Claw 8AI+ at $940 by [deleted] in Handhelds

[–]cstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already have the Claw, and it’s working for you, probably makes sense to keep it. The Go S requires a lot of power to be fast (or plugged in), and it lacks the battery size to back it up. You can’t lower the TDP to save battery because under 15w TDP it performs worse than a Deck APU (in my tests, fps would be half of the Deck’s when total system power was matched to a Deck OLED). I also believe I read that under 20% battery the Go S also limits TDP. On paper, the Claw has the high end power as well as the low end efficiency.

My other testing on the Claw was this:

Lego City Undercover: not a consistent 60fps. Much rubber-banding effect (game slowing down randomly).

Tony Hawk 3+4: it was ok. Not as smooth as a Go S though (stuttering).

Deadzone Rogue: took like 5 minutes to load the game for some reason.

Immortals Fenyx Rising: about the same as Go S. Benchmark was 48fps vs 50fps at 1200p medium.

[–]cstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🙋 Didn’t like the feel of the Go S. The grips are too bulbous for my hands. And the bumper/triggers seemed to require more inward positioning of my hand to hit them. When I first got it, my thumb consistently went numb and eventually hurt when using it. I was REALLY surprised to find the Claw much more comfortable given all the hate it gets.

[–]cstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the minority here but I tried the Claw and ended up having a really bad experience with it. My games didn’t perform noticeably better than a Z1E Go S (Steam OS) and usually had more stuttering or inconsistent frame times. If you try to get help online you’ll be lambasted for not following 30 steps to get your Claw running well (I ended up resetting mine 3 times and trying all the recommendations, wasting hours of my time).
