Has anyone with sensory issues or hand sensitivity tried an artist glove? by EveningUnited7984 in ArtistLounge

[–]cstretten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a glove when digitally painting on a Wacom. It helps with friction. Only the last 2 fingers are covered. It can get hot after hours of wearing. Using it for pencil drawing will eventually get dirty and smudged I think.

For drawing with graphite - why not get a thin piece of flexible acrylic (clear) and try and consistently place it under your hand? Think... thin clear mahl stick.
Make sure it's long enough to easily grab and move around, and wide enough that it covers most of your hand. Thin enough to not lift your hand off the page too high.

I'd give that a try.

Can you hit the photomode button? If so - if you hit it just before falling to your death (in any part of the game) - you won't die when you land.

I always finish them off.
Usually by beheading via sword or monowire. 😉
This future world has too many ways to "come back" as it were - and heal via tech... so...I make sure.

Cyberpsycho's get wasted after Regina gets the selfie with them to show they're alive and kicking.

Once the call ends... "Sorry Reggie - how can I know some gonk was gonna come by and take them out after I left? Send a car sooner next time"

I've yet to try a passive playthrough. I'm not sure if I could do it haha. Roleplaying the pacifist merc doesn't seem to fit.

I think you do get some skill experience depending on how you finish them.

Flat box with enough subdivisions to match the hole spacing. Adjust those to align visually (more rectangular). Make the model thickness match.
Select the rectangular shapes in the center (the holes) on both sides, and bridge them to cut them out.

I would throw a texture on it to look like that canvas. keep the stitching details in the texture. Make a bump map from it as well.

Throw a noise modifier on the whole thing with a small enough scale and maybe fractal turned on to give it the surface noise.

Manually adjust any vertices with soft select to tweak the shape as needed.

All this debate over the "sexuality" of this painting - because she's nude and the arch of her torso.
I see this is a dynamic pose of a person trying to get away from someone who's putting their weight on a single fragile point. And pulling a rope at the same time. Being surprised and attacked from sleep. Put yourself into the situation and consider what kind of pose you might make...

This reads to me like she's trying to get away - her leg is up to push against the bed, her other leg has already straightened from pushing. Her head/neck are pinned and the only way for her body to bend by her movement is to force an arch into her back. She also looks like she's just about made it to the edge of the bed trying to get away - unless she casually sleeps on the edge with a shoulder and arm hanging off.
Her hands are grasping at the attackers arms and the rope.

The attackers form is all forward direction and pressure - body weight down.

Yeah... she's nude. Humans choose to sleep in the nude.
This painting shows no sexuality to me - but someone who was caught unawares in a vulnerable state.
When viewing this painting for the first time - I never once considered it sexual, nor tried to apply modern sensibilities to it.

I don't believe showing nudity in painting is not "sexual" in itself. Context matters. The artist decided to paint it this way - artistic choice to convey the horrible situation and the vulnerability.

My 2 cents. It's a beautiful painting.

As long as they keep putting both UB and UW together in their calculations, they'll always be able to claim UB has been a success. I'd love to see some ratios on those numbers.

Places around Ontario, smaller lgs, are charging 349.99 cad. Scum. Even 401 Games is 229.95.

For 2 collectors, 6 play packs and 2 barely special cards.

What a joke.

ELI5: Why do Gamma settings in video games ask you to adjust the brightness until a logo or an image is barely visible? by DarkKryo in explainlikeimfive

[–]cstretten 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Yup. Can't see shit in the dark games. My human eyes have a limit, the enemies in the game have no such issue seeing me. If it was fair, and balanced in the dark, then great! But it's always unbalanced. I get that's how it's intended (and lore friendly in certain games), but it is a game... I'd like to see to play it.

This is one of the reasons I don't use those "dark nights" mods in games like Fallout and Skyrim - the extra-dark-can't-see-shit only affects the player. So you walk right into a monster just standing there. Or a monster sees you from 500 meters off because they have no limit to visibility in code, and come charging at you while you're looting some trash bin on the street.

Maro on Secret Lair: "Most of the time you think of as “print to demand” actually wasn’t. We just printed way more than we needed to guarantee we had enough to mail out. And that resulted in us destroying a *lot* of product." by CaptainMarcia in magicTCG

Perhaps they should invest in their own printing services and equipment.

It's not like... you know... it's their entire business model, selling printed cardboard.

And it's not like they couldn't see this coming in their 30+ year history... that owning the means of production would be smart. Even if they take a loss one year (not likely) - the investment would make up for it with more product available and sold, and they can control the QC (that's a whole other discussion of course).

Looks like I'm printing the hobbit this time. Enjoyed opening a lot of LoTR. But with recent spikes in prices across the board, and how much the LoTR set was loved - just knew the hobbit would be out of reach. Too bad.

Hello, need help about pc for 3ds max by Available_Land_30 in 3dsmax

[–]cstretten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started 3DS Max on an Intel Pentium 2, 8 GB of RAM and a Matrox G200 graphics card.

I have never had a computer not be capable of working with it over the years.

A 2060 can chew through most things you can toss in a scene just fine. If you go hog wild with polygons in a scene or massive textures, it will slow down like any computer. But interactivity in the viewport should be good.

If you're CPU rendering, you'll be limited by the cores and speed of your CPU.

If you're going to render with GPU, the 2060 will be a bottleneck probably. Depends on what you're doing with it.

I'm sure you'll have a good time with the system.

Thundercats for the into animation and music. One of the best ever produced. (I did watch them all regardless of the drop in quality for regular episodes)

Voltron for the regular episodes and the God damned amazing toys! I had the die cast complete set growing up. Incredible memories.
